Bonjour Everyone
I see quite a few Yorkshire folk have joined us, even Donny ones. Glad they are looking after the place and keeping me posted on the weather. Hot and sunny here with the odd cloud as respite.
Just got back on line, have scan read some of Sst/Sun so
HJ family life eh!!
Belated :bdaycake: Halight twins - hope they had a good one
T/Mum - your DD looks lovely but agree peer pressure is totally wrong, especially as they haven't stopped growing then - wish I looked that good at 16!! (or even now) :rotfl:
Menu plan - EM - BBQ whatever we brought from home and have thawed with salad and new pots.
Off to a market now.
Take care

Been a bit missing in action on here this week. Have been reading, just not anything particularly OS to report, so haven't posted. Still haven't really, but thought I'd say hello!
Having my hair cut at 10, first time since Christmas so really needs doing. I dyed it yesterday to cover up all the greys coming through - I'm only 33.
Had a nice weekend just pottering about. Was going to do a BBQ for the kids last night as I had promised them, but sods law I'd just tried to light it when it started to rain, so we gave up and will save the coals for another time! All the rolls and quorn burgers/sausages went in the freezer, and kids decided they wanted baked beans and scrambled egg for tea, so super easy!
Halight - glad the twins party went well
Haribo - was it you who was saying about frogs and toads in the garden? Yuk, am so glad I don't have them, am totally phobic!
Anyway, hope everyone has a good day, take care in the sun.0 -
Morning everyone. It's boiling hot here already & I'm a sweaty heap  Think I'm perimenopausal as have been having hot flushes for a few months now - oh joy! I've tidied round, cleaned the bath, sink & loo, binned loads of rubbish from the kids rooms and pegged out the washing. I'm doing NOTHING else apart from making cheese & onion flan & wedges for tea
The summer holidays start for DD on Friday followed next week by DS1, DS2 & DS3 and then the challenge on the grocery budget will begin  I see lots of trips to Aldi for the Super Six fruit coming up. I make big fruit salads & leave them in the fridge for everyone to help themselves. Plus some cheese/peanut butter/pate on crackers seems to fill in the gaps. How is everyone else planning on feeding the starving hoardes during the summer?
((hugs)) where needed & I'll pop back on later.0 -
Aghhh :mad:I am so cross , all I want to do is make an appointment at my local bank to open an account for DD2. I have spent half an hour talking to someone in a call centre , who has tried to sell me all sorts of stuff I dont want  eventually they put me through to a voice mail where I could leave my details apparently my local branch would ring me back. the voice mail couldnt process my request :mad::mad::mad: I ended up putting the phone down.
now I have already been into said bank to organise an appointment and they gave me the phone number and said I would have to ring to make an appointment!
how on earth do these places make money if it is impossible to speak to a human that knows what they are doing!

Morning all,
More marking for me today. I ache this morning, having learnt the hard way that I am way too old to play frisbee. I will be marking most of the day
I will be so glad when this year's session is over.
Asda delivery last night was one box short - OH didn't notice until after the driver left. Driver showed up early, but had to wait as OH wasn't back until 8 pm (we were schedualed 8 pm - 10 pm). Phoned CS, who said they will phone store then phone back to see if they could track down the missing box - of course they didn't actually bother to phone back. So phoned again this morning. They said they would refund the missing items (10 items in total), but it's not good given that the stuff missing was the heavy stuff. This is the first time I've used them and I probably won't use them again after all that hassle. I will wait to see if it's actually refunded, but it's such a pain in the backside chasing them.
Pizza for tea
OH has to call his solicitor this afternoon to see if we can sort his mess out
Tired mum - ((hug)) for you - he'll probably do much better with a new start somewhere else.
have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Hi all
Quite excited as I have found one of the undated 20p coins in my purse this morning. Now not sure what to do with it!
Had a good weekend - working on Saturday but Manager not in so quite relaxing - now worried what she will pull me up on tomorrow when I go back in but I am keeping a record now of all that she says that is unfair and also a record of all her errors as well - not going to do anything with them but makes me feel better!!!! Sunday went for a picnic, we had promised DD3 we would do it and with all the lovely weather finally packed it up - went geocacheing - and planned to eat after we had found the treasure. However, having walked a couple of miles, waded through streams and got ourselves hungry and dirty it started raining - we were not defeated though we still had our picnic as it was warm rain!!!!
Went for coffee at Costa this morning for some me time - now going to do the housework.
Coffee from Costa for brekkie (free as full loyalty card)
pasta for lunch today
Tea will be leftover lamb from joint yesterday made into a Korma
Taplady - Good luck to OH
N9eav Good luck with the fishing comp, my OH is jealous of your boat -he had to sell his after his triple bypass last year!
Hugs to all who need them.

Morning OS lovelies!
Aussie - So pleased you are having fun with your grandson
Taplady - glad you are getting a little time for yourself!
Bitsy - well done on the veggies!
Halight - so glad the party went well.
Haribo - I envy you being able to see your frogs - I HEAR mine and I saw the tadpoles etc and my OH sees them on the lily pads late at night but I never get to see them! We did something similar to your bucket idea for the tadpoles last year... buried a large shallow tub and put rocks around and some wood and stones in it so the taddys could climb out. We have called it Frog City!:rotfl:
Noahs - my broccolli is still stubbornly refusing to be broccolli and looks like cabbage. Am seriously beginning to wonder if they ARE in fact cabbage..:rotfl:
N9eav - my garlic is looking dry at the top which I believe is the sign they are ready to pull. The softer ones are still green but the hard top ones are definately looking a bit dead on top.. It's my first year so wasn't sure.
Well my french beans are looking like miniture french beans which is exciting as it's the first year I have had them. Another half a doz strawberries made it into my mouth yesterday (only patchy sunshine but managed a couple of hours in the garden - with the OH moving all the pots around for me.) All my lilies are bursting into flower and are so tall I had to rearrange things so the smaller plants can get some sun!
I am doing tortilla for dinner tonight - last night we ended up with pizza as Dominoes was BOGOF and ohhh it was sooooo lovely! But I have everything in the house for a nice spanish omlette so hopefully we will get that cooked tonight. Already have one lot of washing on the line and another in the machine and today is hair wash day and hopefully late afternoon we should be out in the garden again.
Just had to buy a new printer as the cat climbed up onto the shelf on her way to the window and her weight broke the paper feed on the old one. Luckily I had lots of Amazon vouchers to spend so did some research and ordered one by 'Brother' as the refill inks are just about the cheapest you can get. Our old HP one needed a new mortgage every time we refilled it!
I hope your week starts well. Warm gentlefor anyone who wants or needs one today.
