Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Monday 29th June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning folks.
Looks to be another nice day down this way. Misty startm but should brighten up. NO heatwave for us though.... rain I think this week.
Ate the first crops yesterday, some nice new potatoes. BBQ'd 2 chickens on the grill, delicious. Garlic had been pulled and is drying out. Not too bad for first attempt, 20 bulbs or so. Everything else is growing fine. 4th mole of the year had invaded my garden, need to get the neighbour back over to kill it. They make an awful mess.
Day off, so getting ready for big fishing comp tomorrow, bit of work on the boat and some light shopping.
Cheers

Morning N9eav & all to follow,
It's been a lovely day over here today as well. Bright blue skies without a cloud in the sky. Air is still cold though. Had a busy weekend. DD arrived Friday night and DGS came on Sunday. He's here for 2 weeks but DS1 is having him the weekend. Enough time for Ninny to recover for the next week. It's been lovely. We've really missed him but I'd say he's missed us just as much. He had 1/2 rockmelon for arv tea as well as 1/2 punnet strawberries.
Bingo tonight. Hopefully I might get lucky. Having pasties & vegetables tonight for tea as I had some mixture leftover in the freezer. Custard & the rest of the fruit for dessert.
N9eav How does your neighbour get the mole? Does he have some sort of trap? Good luck with the fishing comp.
Tiredmum DD looked lovely & I hope everything has been sorted out with DS. xx
I haven't read yesterdays thread so <hugs> to those that need them. Hope you all have a lovely hot day.Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Morning everyone.
I am pleased to announce that my courgette has a huge flower coming and a little courgette after it :T I have two heads of broccoli growing and I suspect some cauliflower. leeks haven't died since I planted them out so that's a plus too!
Tea last night was some of the roast chicken with lettuce from garden, spring onions from the garden, cucumber (shop bought unfortunately) and mashed spuds (again spuds bought).
I haven't looked to see what's for tea tonight. Might do bacon, onion and potato hot pot.
H started the iron mountain last night but there is still loads left. Might see if I can get some more done today (not easy with the kids).
Feels like another hot one and sun is out already :T
Have an excellent day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning all :hello:
Very warm here again but typically as soon as I hung out the 3 loads of washing I did yesterday it began to spit with rain. Hopefully it was just passing as the forecast is for sun and 25 degrees.
Off to the office in a minute for what will be my final day before the holidays. I'll still keep on top of things but want to spend as much time with the girlies as posssible.
House is clean as I did alot last night. Reduced shoulder of lamb is defrosted to make a lamb and feta salad for tonight. Should be able to add some HG peas to it.. Teachers' presents to wrap after school and the girls have thank you notes to write for their birthday presents.
So pleased you are having fun with DGS Aussie.x
Fingers crossed for TapLad.
Ruby, I think Beth is still in Spain but I too am hoping she and her DBs are ok.
Well done on the veggies Bitsy.
Bye for now
