  • hmmmmm..........that sounds horribly like one of Cruella's tactics. She started making me do that and would then pick through it trying to trip me up on what order I had done stuff and why i'd done one thing and how could it take me x minutes to do another etc etc......just be careful DD xx
Thanks BB, it did raise suspiscion as soon as she mentioned it... she claims it is so she can look at how my job can expand but I have been here before, that was just before going on maternity leave so obviously didn't effect me but my old team had hell of it.

She sits about 10 feet away and EMAILS me rather than talks to me, we have one-to-one's each month and the last one went on for TWO AND A HALF HOURS and she pressed and pressed and pressed about things (saying things like 'you don't seem enthusiastic about your job' - well duh that's because this is not the job I applied for) until she got me crying - excessive for someone who works 26 hours a week, no? This is the woman who told me to stop thinkign of myself as part time and just get on with it  oh and told me to stop questioning my job description, and again, 'get on with it'.

Trouble is I am unsure of her relationship with her manager - I like her but not sure if I can talk to her. She has been in local council all her working life - she knows what she is doing, she knows how far she can go before she is on the wrong side of unreasonable.

Oi, stop that sobbing! :p I'm never anywhere near that fast in training, but when it comes to races I think I might be a bit competitive :o

  • Ooh... runner types, a question - I ran yesterday but don't ache today like I did last week... Does that mean I could have gone a bit further?

My lungs are what stops me, not my legs... last time around I had been swimming/spin classes for months so it was my legs aching, nto my lungs - feels v odd and different and makes me unsure of how to improve?

DD - it sounds like she emails you so that she has a copy of everything she has asked you to do (or everything she says).

You could look at the timesheet thing in a more positive light. Try it for a week or two and then compare it to your job description. See if it fits. You could then request a meeting from her to discuss what comes out of the timesheet.

Also keep detailed records of your issues etc

Yeah but in training your not supposed to be that fast, thats the whole point of training! In races you go for it and are competitive...and hence you have the ability and fitness to run that fast (something that I don't have :p:o)

Who am I to tell anyone what to do ......I can't seem to organise myself properly. When I am working I want to study, when I study I want to run and when I run I want to lie down!

I couldn't do it in 52 hours so I don't know what you're crying about!

Think this is really good advice DD, she doesn't sound like a good manager but try to see if you can get the best out of it.

But Becky said yesterday that running is not a genetic thing so maybe if we really practised hard enough we would get better:confused: Its a thought yes:o
