The suspense is killing me!!!

  • Personally I wouldn't give a deadline but each to their own. If someone takes what I consider too long then I'd phone the EA and tell them I need an answer by x time or day. I do try to remain cool about it though because if you show it bothers you they might get the idea that you really like the property. We have had some slow responses to offers but mainly down to the EA being slow to pass them on. You'd have thought they'd be keen. Having said that we're waiting to hear back after an offer made Friday. The EA says the vendors have vanished. Maybe they don't want to sell!

Surely if you were going to buy a house you should really like the property? Or am I just a bit old fashioned? :p

In an ideal world you would but TBH the one we've just agreed to buy is not what I wanted but more than anything I want to be near DDs school. There were several houses equally OK I could have gone for. I wouldn't have been dissappointed if we couldn't agree on a price but I still find the suspense nearly kills me. :o

Why did you only give them seven days?

And why did you offer 250K, you should have offered 249,999 as anything 250 and above attracts 3% stamp duty
The proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant

Th stamp duty increases to 3% for anything ABOVE £250k.

    See extract from DirectGov website

    Residential property - purchase price
Rate of Stamp Duty Land Tax
    up to £175,000 (until 31 December 2009 inclusive) 0%
    £175,001 - £250,000 1%
    £250,001 - £500,000 3%
    £500,001 or more 4%

    I've been Money Tipped!
My guess is they'll take the offer. They are waiting the full 7 days to see if anything else comes in.

Anyway, you appear to have 2 usernames: blondali and shirlgirl2004.

No I think shirlgirl has just piggy backed this thread. She had a deadline on Monday, blondali's is today.

    That's how I read it anyway.
