Does anyone know what causes teeny tiny white crawling things? When I say tiny, I'm talking the size of a full stop. Really small, crawling all over the bread bin and the surrounding work top. DH has discovered that there is rotting bread in the bread bin, he thinks it might be that, I wondered maybe the carrots that were on the worktop? Any ideas? They are spreading, altho DH has taken emergency measures, so hopefully that might be the end of it.

Rosepink it sounds like Weevels. They're usually found in flour and dried goods.

nah.. they are teeny tiny and black

White ones are just bugs.. a swifty debug and fling the things they are liking gets rid.

I know the ones they are.. they will take a few days to disappear entirely but they will go.

Wash the carrots to rid them of bugs and put them in the fridge! bin the bread!

Thanks. I've just googled them, they are gross. I will have to go through all our flour and dried goods and see if they are in them. I do have a bag of flour in the cupboard above the breadbin, so maybe that's where they came from. Would the cooking process have killed them? They wouldn't have been in the bread would they? It was shop bought bread that had gone rotten in the bread bin.
Going to have to do a major disinfection of kitchen cupboards etc tomorrow as apparently they can carry e.coli and other things. Nice
ETA: Thanks Pigpen, we have binned everything, and DH has had a good clean up. I feel quite relieved at your diagnosis.

  • FFp :rotfl::rotfl: and I love your afghan - I knew what it was but not the style obviously _ I think its gorgeous you clever thing - how long have you been working it? Your cross stitch will be good to keep your hands busy when you have cravings!

    toots xx

Thanks Toots. I started it when I was pregnant with HRH:eek: :o I get bored with it and then start another project than go back to it. I think half the problem was I took on too much as I did two x-stitch cushions plus I was knitting cardies and stuff too. Between the cushions and the bits of the Afghan I was pooh bear-ed out. When going through my box today I found another one that I had intended to do at the same time! Might get this one finished and start it, it might be ready in time for my first grandchild:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:if I manage to quit my needle will have sparks flying from it!!!!!!!!!!!

OH and DS1 just back from Newcastle. They took 105 pictures! OH will be knackered in the morning when he needs to go to work.

Right I'm off to see what rubbish is on this TV tonight.
00020325.gifsee you all in the morning
