I am seriously struggling today. I just can't get going. And the BD is setting in. I'm trying to fight it but it's slowly taking over my brain. Fog brain has set in.

Going to visit the inlaws in a minute, got to go and have a wash first.

I think I will just aim for level one this week as i am feeling completely overwhelmed by everything and can't cope with even looking at the lists.

    Hugs Mudbath and DS

Switch everything off at the mains when not in use (not the fishtank ;)). User laptops rather than PCs as they are more efficient, and make sure that they are set to hibernate when left for more than 10 minutes (set them to sleep after about 5, and for the PCs, get the monitors to sleep after 2). everything is always in use!! I use a lappy but the children all have pc's

Although heating water with gas is cheaper than with electricity, try to use showers rather than baths as they'll use less hot water. The littlies ones all go in the sae bath and the big ones are always showered

Sometimes it doesn't matter how many radiators you have on... they try to heat the whole house anyway. Make sure that you close doors between rooms, lag any pipes (hot water or heating) that you can get to, and set your heating controls to the minimum time you can get away with (I start with very little, increase it through the winter, then decrease it as it gets warmer - I'd rather do a manual override than accidentally have it on too long). Thermostatic valves on radiators are a worthwhile investment, as is a jacket for the hot water tank. Find out what grants you may be eligible for too, both from your council and from your energy supplier.

We have thermostatic valves on all rads... part of the deal with the new boiler 18 months ago.
    We don't have a tank.
There are no exposed pipes they are all under floorboards so any heat warms the rooms anyway.
The loft insulation practically fills the loft lol.
I already have heating down to 6 hours a day I can't reduce it further really.. not without freezing the children.

I guess you need to work out how to get the children to generate heat!

Sounds as if you've got most things sorted, so it's really down to the little things like draft-proofing, closing doors and having thermally lined curtains/blinds.

Make sure the children switch off their PCs when they're out and at night (although in winter they will help heat the rooms ;)), as it can make quite a big difference.

I guess that's the problem with having a big house with lots of people running around in it! Sounds like you need to get them all thermals for Christmas...

Evening everyone, can't believe it's the start of the summer holidays  (i'm not ready yet LOL).

Huge hugs to everyone, i've had a very quick read through and so many are having a tough time, so massive hugs all round.

Hubby been up all night (i didn't stay up with him), so he's in bed now and i don't think he'll be up again this evening. Did make him a nice dinner but he wouldn't get up.
So enough is enough i'll be contacting the doc again as his meds have been upped now for over 3 weeks and there not making any difference.
I'm hoping things will settle soon, don't want the kids knowing whats going on.
For now i'm just gonna get on with things and see what the doc will say. Hubby doesn't want the doc knowing much but i'll be bursting that bubble, same with his parents as well (they think he is fine), as i can't do it on my own with the kids off as well.
He sould have been in hospital weeks ago but wouldn't go.

Flying wise nothing much has been done so far except washing. Think i better make a start tonight.:o It's awful at the minute. Must look for cheap wardrobes for bedroom to, sick of the rails.

Oh and Rhys got his weight done yesterday and he's 12lb 2 oz:eek:, health vistor thinks he's putting on too much too quick.:rotfl:He's a hungry boy.

Right time to get kids to bed, will be back later to update (i hope).

Thanks again everyone for the hugs and advice, i've promised myself i'll look after me a bit better.:A:A:A:A:A:A:A
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.
