Calibre is a free/open source? ebook management programme (they recently added support for the kindle i think), i've been using it since I first got my ebook and it's good
The only thing I haven't tried is using it with DRM'd ebooks (I think you'd need to use adobe digital edition to load DRM'd books onto the Ereader).0 -
Looking forward to seeing the old model drop to around the £100 mark soon. :rolleyes:0

The best price I've seen for the new prs-600 touch is £219 from WH Smith.
Any advances?

I agree it is a great bit of software. I installed it on an old XP laptop it worked well. Installed it on a new laptop (Ubuntu) and it gets all my subscriptions and dumps them to my ebook in under a minute!
I set it to delete items transfer to ebook reader. The newspaper feeds like the Telegraph are good as is the BBC feed, Reuters, Ars Technical and the Engadget feed has photos and full content.
Its great as I an download content to read on the train into work.
I've not been able to get it to download audio podcasts from an RSS feed though.
Great program took me a while to get used to the interface and select the feeds I wanted. Beats the Sony reader software hands down.Seth.0 -

That's exactly why we're on the money saving forum
But it is true, and it's not worth atm paying an extra £100 for. Plus, although my sister offered to return this one, she didn't offer to pay the difference
Looked at the 2 new models in a sony store today (I have the 505) and to be honest i dont think they are as good - the page turn button doesnt feel as natural.
Will be getting my wife a 505 before they run out, John Lewis here I come....0
