Can someone who'd tested Windows 7 just kindly mention a couple of things that 7 (or Vista for that matter) can do that XP (may be with the help of third party software) can't?
Oh, and please don't mention security as this is looks only to be based on claims. plus you can fully secure XP nowadays anyway..............
not really a fair question as developers will try to make things as compatiable as possible for both OSes.
Ignoring any interface stuff and anything too pretentious, xp hasn't got is...
direct X 10 support (and future dx11),
mheg support for media center,
support for more than 2 tuners under media center
decent touchscreen support
support for av recievers as part of windows' sound system
The math input pannel
built in iso+dvd buring support
built in dvd support (sort of) #
ability to mount .vhd (virtual hard disk) files
urm... will have think up a few more havn't actually used xp for a while now...0 -
Thanks. I am really thinking about pre-ordering but can't seem to justify it for what appears at the end of the day to be small changes in the bigger scheme of my computer use. The other point is effects this could have on performance after changing from XP (although I have a decent machine, I couldn't help noticing the deterioration when using Vista) and the usual OS teething problems. Finally Windows 7 would probably not run comfortably on my netbook (I am speculating here) and I would like to run the same OS across the board. I think what I'll do is to wait and not rush into it like I did with Vista.not really a fair question as developers will try to make things as compatiable as possible for both OSes.
