Pre-order price for win 7 HP is £50, £80 is ok, its normal £150 is a bit rich but I doupt the majority of people will actually be buying retail copies of windows anyway, and those that do will probably be after oem copies anyway.

Comparing different markets is never really simple, there are lots more factors you have to take into account and direct like for like pricing is never really that good even if you may feel you're being ripped off.

I dont think retailers actually like the psp-go, digital downloads only means they get nothing beond the initial sale... so why bother premoting it, not to mention it makes all your existing umds useless (at least the dsi kept incompatbailities to a min). can't say ive seen anyone premoting it.

Im not disagreeing with you , but then you could say that with every other product that is sold in America compared to Europe. Its because in america if the put the price up on any item or americians think the item is overpriced there will be outrage or they wont buy it. Over here the british people dont care basically , they will pay any price for anything just as long as they can "Ive got it" so why would companies lower there prices when they know the british people are still going to pay for it.

It's not quite as simple as that.

For starters, there's sales tax which is added on by the state and the city. It's never part of the advertised price, so you have to add that on if you're comparing prices.

And secondly, Americans don't get paid in Pound Sterling, so you can't really compare the two by just converting from one to the other.

For instance, an 8GB iPod Touch costs £165, so if you were getting paid £10 an hour, it would take 16.5 hours of work to buy one. Someone doing the same job in the US might get $15 an hour. The same iPod Touch costs $229, and add on, say, 10% sales tax, and that brings us to almost $252. The American would have to work for 16.8 hours to afford the same thing.

Nicely put but isn't internet shopping free of local and state sales tax in most (if not all) states?

It depends on the store and the state.

Residents of Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Dakota, and Washington pay sales tax on Amazon for instance.

Can someone who'd tested Windows 7 just kindly mention a couple of things that 7 (or Vista for that matter) can do that XP (may be with the help of third party software) can't?

Oh, and please don't mention security as this is looks only to be based on claims. plus you can fully secure XP nowadays anyway..............
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

I think the point is that it's touted as being more secure out of the box than XP is (which let's face it, wouldn't be hard).

    But anyway, take your pick:
