The rule for a max of 2 paracetemol isn't supermarkets being difficult, its the law. Only proper pharmacies are allowed to sell more than 32 tablets at the one time. If you came through a till I was on, even if you did split up the tablets into 2 or 3 transactions, I'd refuse to sell them as it would be breaking the law.0 -
As far as I know Sainsbury do not have a rationing on their delivery except for bottled water, where the maximum is 20 bottles, but it states it very clearly on the website.
(I am a big fan of Sainsbury, the drivers are usually pleasant, they understand the concept of 'no substitutions' and the quality is excellent. The things I buy are very inexpensive there. Nettos sweetcorn in my experience is full of woody chunks and not very pleasant.)Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

I live on a sea side resort and often see business use supermarkets as cash and carries, although worked at one take away who would use them for veg and drinks to sell to punters at 60p a can
Another takeaway I worked for used Aldi it was mainly Indian restaurant but did odd takaway0 -
I think people should be allowed to buy what and how much they want, law of free market economics, or we will vote with our feet.
They don't mind us buying more when its a BOGOF then? Half the time people don't need 2 of something but only 1 and then end up eating/drinking more because they 'saved' money, either that or it rotted away in the fridge.
I like to try and see through the marketting ploys, of course what they are selling cheap is a loss leader so they want to restrict it to only a few per customer. I will go through the tills more than once to get round this as I know what I want to buy and won't have the supermarkets dictate to me otherwise.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Lidals and Aldi dont have a limit on things you can buy, you regularly see people in there buying cases of the same item, no wonder Tesco are loosing customers, :cool:0

You are lucky to be able to buy in bulk, most of the stuff I want runs out in our local Tesco.
I have to goto another supermarket to get what they run out of
They need to buy more to keep up with demand - it's more profit for them if people want to buy moreAn average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I think you go to a supermarket to buy what you like. They have products on display and you have the cash, the item should be yours. I understand what another poster said about everyone having access to the special offers but we have enough rules and regulations in life. This is all news to me, I had no idea they did this!!!! My OH and I pick up entire cardboard trays of their items and bought them. So it's probably only rarely enforced. I used to work in Sainsbury's as a part time checkout operator. No idea of any such policy and I'd never have bothered to kick up a fuss because someone wanted 11 cans of baked beans, lol0

I wonder if some people do buy fortnightly or more on items too, I do tend to stock on up BOGOF or goods not being stocked anymore Tescos sometimes have odd bargain, I have lots of bubble bath/shower gel which came to end of line and selling them off, even bagged a couple of jars of pickled onions for 10p which I was looking to buy anyhow0

Anyone got a source? In training we were told it isn't the law, and if you made a mistake it wouldn't matter - not to mention I'm sure they'd have programmed an alert to come up if it was the law. That said, my Sainsbury's wasn't entirely good with training, with the older checkout staff being really out of date on it.
And if Costco isn't a proper pharmacy then explain the 100s of tablets my mum bought0
