I have kaspersky and love it, won't use any other one now. Also comes with a virtual Keyboard so people can't monitor what you type if doing banking or shopping online. Only virus software that comes with this i think.

Just one more query about Kapersky - does it automatically fix/delete any viruses etc that it finds on doing a scan? I am sure I read on one of the older threads that it flags up problems, but you have to find them and fix then manually:eek: I think this would be a problem for me.

Does anyone know if this is right?

Have just about decided to buy Kapersky as I can get it for £7.50 from Amazon if I buy a few other things:T
    Thanks.

Believe me given the choice of Kaspersky or McAfee I would always go for Kaspersky. Your about to witness the real speed of your PC.

The best program McAfee produce is there internet security suite removal kit (as linked)

I've noticed that no one seem to have mentioned that you can get Kaspersky free for a year for three PCs from Barclays (Online account holders only) not sure if you have bought yours yet or if you have a Barclays account. Nowt cheaper than free.

Thanks for the information, unfortunately I don't bank with Barclays so cannot get it free. However, I don't think £7.50 for three PC's is expensive and my son needs an antivirus for his laptop, so a bargain really.

Have just been reading reviews on Amazon and someone says Kapersky is fine on Vista but he had loads of problems installing it on a computer with XP, which is what I have.:eek::eek:

I am running Kaspersky on my desktop with XP and on my laptop with Vista, I never had any problems with installation on either, I have tried several AV's over the years and I certainly find it the best I have used.

I have just installed Kaspersky on Windows 7 and it seems to work ok on that as well.

Quite impressed so far especially as I got it free through Barclays. :D

It says to download the McAfee removal tool and save it to a folder  HELP! Which folder do they mean? I am sadly lacking in any sort of technical knowledge. I just want to get rid of all trace of McAfee before I put my Kaspersky disc in.

    Thanks for that.

I was reading your reply to the person who's PC was very slow to start up and you said that windows updates can be deleted as they take up a lot of room. I was looking through the size of programs in anticipation of getting rid of McAfee and was amazed how much the updates take up. Is it OK to just delete them all?

    Thanks, you are so clever:T
