Does anyone know how long it takes for the railcard to come or can you book tickets straight away? I'm looking to book tickets to london 22nd August and wonder if it's worth waiting for the reduced price card?
    Thanks

You can buy your tickets online now. Then apply for your railcard when the offer starts.

Don't worry. When I bought my railcard last year with a similar offer, it arrived within a couple of days. So if you buy it on the first day of the promotion then you'd easily still receive it during July IMHO.

This is a fantastic deal from The Daily Mail offering 50% off an annual Family & Friends Railcard (normally £26). The offer is available online only between 24 July and 21 August 2009 using special promotional code DAILYM09

I know this deal was posted ridiculously early by somebody two or three months ago but no doubt a lot of people either missed it or have forgotten about it so just thought I'd give everyone a heads up since the offer goes live at midnight.

With this offer a Family & Friends Railcard (formerly Family Railcard) costs just £13 and you save 1/3 off adult fares, and 60% off kid's fares on travel throughout Great Britain.

Up to four adults and four kids can travel on one card, and they don't even need to be related. So, for what works out to around £1 a month, you can look forward to dramatic savings for the whole year.

    Family & Friends Railcard Vouchers: 50% - DAILYM09

Read the T&C as you have to have at least 1 under 15 year old with you when you use the card. I don't but enjoy!

Its not that the other deal was posted rediculously early, it was becasue you got a 3 month free trial card, which then gave you the opportunity to purchase a full year one at 50% off.

Good reminder to any that have forgottoen tho, thanks.

Does this mean the child has to be under 15 (ie 14!) at the time you get the railcard or at the time of travel?

My DD will turn 15 in september so I'm not sure whether to get another one or not?
