Sorry, answered my own question, just found this in the T&C:
"Special notes regarding children’s tickets – Children aged under 16 at the time that the Railcard is purchased may still travel at the discounted child’s fare throughout the validity period of the Railcard, even though they become 16 years old during that time."
OK for a bit longer, then! :T0 -
I am not sure whether to buy another one now. Is that for definite about the age. My dd is 16 in October and my family railcard runs out next week. I was going to get her a student one as she does travel quite a bit on her own now.
I wish I had read the t&c s I could have put my ds as an adult so he and my dd could travel together or he and his gf who is 15 could as well. I have bought him a student railcard.
Hmm I can't decide now whether to buy the dd a student card or buy us all a family railcard.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

Its not that the other deal was posted rediculously early, it was becasue you got a 3 month free trial card, which then gave you the opportunity to purchase a full year one at 50% off.
Good reminder to any that have forgottoen tho, thanks.

I applied for the 3 month free trial card and never received it. Did it around 10th of May and it said "up to 56 days" for delivery, but that's long gone.
I might go for the half price offer. I could probably get the £13 back on the first journey.0 -
Check the cost before going
We went to London cheap day return including underground railcard , 2 Adult, 2 children & it was £4 cheaper to get a group save ticket that using the railcard we had.0 -
Brilliant! I'm definitely going to get one.0

My sister-in-law told me about this one. Thought I would share it.
Type: www . familyandfriends - railcard . co. uk / morrisons into your browser. (Not the extra gaps, had to type it like that, cos it won't let me post a link cos I'm a new user or something!)
Click on buy now. Enter Morrisons promotional code Morris01 and you get a third of the family & friends rail card. Costs £18.20 instead of £26.
But, the best bit is when you get your receipt, you get a code and phone number to get FREE YHA MEMBERSHIP for one year worth £22.95.
Then the icing on the cake is when the YHA pack comes you get a load more money off vouchers.
Offer ends 31st August 2009.0
