Tired Mum...what a lovely young lady! Pity me who had 4 daughters who all had a 'debs' when they left school at 18/19...and were also invited to others by boys they knew who had no partner....I think there were about 10 events in all...no wonder I never had a penny!

Another lovely day here, managed to get lots of bedding dry and in, very happy with that as I hate having damp bedding hanging around...all beds changed, even spare beds....

Dinner was steak, mixed veg from the garden and new spuds....OH is in a grump as I apparently over-cooked his steak....he can do his own dinner to-morrow if he doesn't apologise, can't be letting him get away with that kind of carp just as we are getting ready to be a two person household when DD4 moves out later in the summer.

Must do some watering this evening as there has been very little rain all week.

Happy birthday to the Misses Halight, think that party is tonight and birthday to-morrow.

Caz...enjoy your drive, lots of people seem to think that women are incapable of driving on the continent....stuff and nonsense!

    Enjoy your Saturday evening everybody

    All plans got changed today.

Took up old stair carpet and landing carpet with all the underlay and swept it, then did the same for DDs bedroom and the large living room.

Got rid of the stuff at the tip, then decided the living room looked good with varnished floorboards so will need to revarnish them.

Also decided to repaint living room in more neutral colour so have four paint sample squares on the wall and will see what they look like in daylight. Next week will be occupied by painting the walls.

Everybody pitched in to help and we are shattered now.

Happy Birthday to the Halight twins.

Tired mum, your DD looks beautiful.
Happy Birthday to the halight twins.

I'm back from our days sailing. I say sailing but that is not strictly true.
OH and I had a bit of a tiff last night so he stomped off without me to his boat this morning. Me being me, I went down a couple of hours later to check he hadn't drowned. Got flagged down twice by people alerting me to the fact that there were bits hanging off my car as a result of yesterday's scary wall jumping out episode. In spite of just paying several hundred pounds to have the boat fixed he didn't seem to be able to make it go. After a few grunts from him and ascertaining that he wasn't likely to drown in 3 feet of water I came home and spent a blissful day in the garden. :D Got worried again about 8 o'clock and drove back to the pier where the boat trailer was under 8 feet of water and the boat was floating away. OH was attempting to catch the boat with a fishing rod as though this was what everyone who goes sailing has to do:confused:. I waded into the water to help but the phrase chocolate teapot springs to mind. :o Eventually we rescued the boat and the trailer and I in the car pulled the trailer with the boat on it up the slip with OH shouting instructions. Unfortunately the dog ran in front of the car and I braked, causing the boat to fly off the trailer and we couldn't get it back on. :o:o:o I'm not sure if he is speaking to me yet as he's gone to buy dinner. Serves him right for going off in a huff this morning.
I will be so glad when this week is over.

OS wise, it was garden, garden, garden and I am just about to do a wash of very wet clothes. Hoping to get some cleaning done tommorrow before the girls get back.

    Sleep well everyone

    Haribo x

Haribo, i have a wonderful mental picture of man stomping around, hurling instructions and lady in car with gritted teeth [mutter, mutter.] and suddenly boat, trailer flying through the air :rotfl:
