I am dead emotional today-a combination of things but dreading leaving the kids for 10 days-keep having real panic moments about it.
I would love to have a massive rant about a few things but I can't and it's frustrating...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Have fun Toto :rotfl:
How is this for life taking the p1$$ a bit?
Me and Mr Sunday have been the very model of restraint and good behaviour (kind of ) so far, and my GOD it has been difficult, but we wanted to do things properly. Anyway, he is coming round tomorrow, I've arranged for the kids to go to their Dad's for the night (unheard of on a weekday), and we were planning for it to be a romantic evening.
Within about half an hour of making these arrangements, I started throwing up. Then he rang today and he has hurt his back and can hardly move!
So he is bringing Scrabble round... :rotfl: :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

cheers hon, I know it sounds silly but I was feeling a bit left out:o:o:osorry I know its daft but I have never done anything like that, I mean I did a 5 km last year (again in memory of my Dad) but 10 km is bloody long way to me and I really wasn't sure I 'd do it but i knew I had to cos it was Father's day and it was for my Dad

Some very interesting responses to my question - thanks guys I find the variety of responses fascinating. Was just talking to OH about it and was trying to find a way of explaining why I feel the way I do...sorry for the slowness in replying
Running 10k is a personal achievement - I remember my first race in January and I felt amazing finishing it, but for me it was always a stepping stone onto something else - be it a faster time or another distance.
Also I was trying to point out that running, unlike other sports doesnt need a genetic advantage and most professional runners go through years of training without support and financial assistance holding down jobs as well as mind blowing training schedules to get to the standard they are by the time they are breaking UK records...
When I started out running - every step was agony - I was so incredibly unfit, but I dont feel running the marathon was more of an achievement than someone who runs it in 2:05 for example - what I achieved was good for me.
Sort of like the difference between a person passing their driving test and someone winning formula 1...both take work but one is something most people can do the other is something very few can do...not to say that both arent an achievement to the person who does them...
Right am off to cook dinner and again its nice to ask these questions and discuss different opinions because it helps me to form my own into a coherent idea rather than just vague random thoughts that float through my mind - even if we disagree I've always liked to analyse how and why people think the things they do
Scourgeous - never feel you are butting in - only directed my q at Bunny out of curiosity from her earlier comment ...(and I still cant spell your username sorry)
