Like other people have been saying, I think some people have been very lucky and got the Navigator Software with the Gizmondo but the one i bought did not have it!! If you just want a Gizmondo without Navigator they are for sale in HMV for £39.99.

    Any HMW in London area?

Finally found one, asked for Customer viewing arrived sealed, asked to see inside, guy obliged much to my suprise.

NO mapping sd card, boo hoo, so declined to buy.:cry::cry: . Looks like Co-pilot cards are not in the sealed boxes.

None in my HMV either, so hope my Argos still has it when they go to 75% off.

Homebargains next?, as they seem to get Tiger chuckouts.

Ok... heres my gizmondo description copied from piece of paper inside box

Gizmondo has a 400Mhz processor, Nvidia graphics chip and high resolution TFT screen (240 x 320 pixels). Features built-in GPS technology for mobile gaming, and multi-level games can be installed through an SD card or downloaded remotely via the mobile phone network.

An integrated digital camera allows users to capture images and send them to other Gizmondos, mobiles and PDAs.
The Windows® multimedia MP3 facility enables users to download and listen to music in digital quality through the stereo headset socket. The integrated SD flash card reader allows users to store music.
The Windows® CE operating system provides video playback for viewing and sending video clips. Windows® Media Player 9 enables MPEG 4 video format viewing.
Via GPRS, features SMS and MMS messaging services to mobile phones and other Gizmondos. Send and receive media files, including photos, MP3 and Mpeg clips.
GPRS enables gaming with high-speed communication so you can play against who you want, anytime, anywhere.
GPS service allows you to set geofences around a building or city. If Gizmondo leaves this assigned zone it can send an alert via SMS to a mobile or PDA. You can use existing location-based services and find the location of other Gizmondos.
Supports Bluetooth wireless technology for connection with other Gizmondos to share pictures or music files. For gaming, two or more can link together for multi-player action. For local connections, it has USB capabilities.

Includes Navigator 2006, powered by CoPilot, which turns Gizmondo into a voice-guided Satellite Navigation System. A house number or post code will generate turn-by-turn voice directions, colour street maps and automatic route calculation. Features 2D, 3D and driver safety display modes, and can divert you around hold ups. Requires no subscriptions or contracts.

Got one of these today, as it said gprs navigation on the box. But got no card inside. Is it pre-installed, or have i bought one without it? Anyone know? Can't connect to the internet with it, as no credit on supplied sim. and can't find the option for it. Beginning to panic that i wasted £70 as it is non returnable at argos

I'm interested in one but I'm not too sure, how are people finding them? (I don't mean in a literal sense, I mean how are they in terms of use etc)

I think we bought the same package and we spoke to the manager in the store before buying it as on the box it does say satalite navigation so if software not included then the item would be classed as faulty and therefore returnable, we got the guy instore to open the box and there was no card in the allocated slot in the packaging but a demo card in the cd sleeve so to me maybe software has been forgotten to be put into the sealed ones and as an afterthought it had been added at a later date hence the people who have had the software included there box hasnt had selfane round it like the one we bought

  • FYI - the Giz also runs tom-tom mobile..
Might be a better choice than the CoPilot software..
    O.
