Ryanair are great

Options
I have flown quite a few times over the last couple of days including Iberia, BA, BMI and Ryanair.

I had never flown Ryanair but had hear so much 'controversy' over them i was little apprehensive, particularly since i had a very tight 30 min connection between 2 of their flights.

I had no cabin luggage just a small bag which i took onboard.

Flight 1: No messing about, everyone boarded within no time at all, no waiting for late passengers see you later, left ahead of schedule landed well ahead of schedule.

Flight 2: I fell asleep before it took off and woke just as we were landing so cannot really comment on the flight, but we arrived early.

What i liked about Ryanair was the way things were hurried along. It was hurried boarding, no messing about getting to the runway - The pilot was tear arsing round the airport. No messing about getting off, just open the door fling the ladders down and straight off.

In comparisson the 1600 BMI flight from LHR up to MAN last night was cancelled - why? One can only assume the flight was empty since when i checked in i practically could choose the whole flight. Was bumped to the 1800 and boarding took forever, the Pilot broke the world speed record for the slowest and longest drive to a a runway ever. No munchies on board. Then when we landed waited about a month to get off.

I am happy to say i am now part of the Ryanair massive, and have to say they will be my European Airline of choice - Since i am away again next week ill see if the last few days were just a good time for Ryanair and a bad time for every other.

Did you enjoy the J2O commercial on the loudspeaker?

Glad to hear it Sturll, I like the Ryanair no messing about, sell it cheap to the masses approach. Couldnt fault the 4 flights Ive had with them in the last month. Wish they would stop trying to flog those herbal cigs though, gets my nicotine monster going.

I really couldn't fault them tbh. Serious, i don't think there was anything i had an issue with, i mean ok, the plane was tacky inside with the advertisements on the stereo and on the over head lockers, but thats not a deciding factor when i fly.

At the end of the day i want to get from A - B for low cost and on time.

    Ryanair did that.
  • I think my Easter Istanbul flight with BA was worse. The seat in front of me was coming away at the seams (Makes you wonder about the mechanical bits) OK they gave me a free paper a decent breakfast and a couple of drinks but didnt justify the £700 they were charging one way at the time.

I'm also a Ryanair fan ... have flown with them about 20 flights in about past year, 4 with Virgin, dozen with BA, couple with Easyjet ... Ryanair wins hands-down. No messing, you play by the rules and they'll take you there fast with no fuss (ok, so you have to wear ipod whole journey to drown out the ads but that's okay too - and don't forget your Boots Sarnie Meal Deal before you get on!)

    I love them!

I'd booked my sister and her family to fly with them from Birmingham to Reus. She left her mobile on the plane. They were kind enough to ring my parents who went to collect it from the airport.

Her flights cost £50 return for the 3 of them from our local airport.

Another passenger was moaning about their carry on luggage, saying it was too big. It was under 10kgs each and the correct size. Some people should get a life!

The worse flight delay I've had was Virgin. 8 hours and no comp. Cramped with unpleasant meal and paid top dollar for the experience.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

Never had an issue with Ryanair, as long as you know what is expected of you, and abide by that it is a bargain flight.
  • you forgot to say ryanair opened up new places to see ok oslo but went to torp and saw the local town sandeford or something very pretty 5 return denmark 2 return to arhus got a 2 to memegan or somewhere in germany soon they have a teain station which can get you to munich if you want , the only thing i dont like is everyone line up 30 mins before the plane even lands, then to find its a staging area remind sme of waiting for the school bus years ago .so i love there 1 pound all in offers each way
