I really am struggling to see why they get such a hard time.

I think it's because their way of operating is very different from most other airlines.

Whilst you're grabbing bargain flights and looking at lots of interesting places, maybe you should consider the "actual" cost of flying. Just a thought.
This is a thread about flights so will attract opinions from people who enjoy travel, perhaps you could be more specific as to what you mean by "actual" cost, is this a carbon footprint issue? If so do you grow your own food, travel everywhere by bike, and have solar heating?

Ryanair have more spin than the Government. The best way to be top of any table is to make the table rules up yourself. Ryanair is the only airline to base punctuality on landing time rather than departure time for a start. They will always have less complaints because they make it difficult to complain. Their fleet isn't any greener than Easyjet's or their other competitors (and it's a good deal more noisy) but if anyone cared that much they would fly with Flybe who really do have green aircraft (turboprops). If flying Ryanair suits you then fine but I've had so many tedious experiences with them they are very firmly off my list.

(oh no of course not, because EVERYONE who makes a complaint about Ryanair are 'stupid' or 'ignorant' in the land of the MSE Ryanair Hardass Crew)

Flown Ryanir many times over the past three years and yes you start off low cost, but eberyone was late, walking in the rain , Captain shouting over the PA for passengers to sit down. Priority Boarding no chance, every passenger have to place their luggage inb the size cage, my wife was asked to pay 35€ before she could place the case in it. When she did it fitted. Gate changes without announcement. Yes Raynair are great

Surely the time that you land is far more important that the time that you depart anyway?

If you leave on time but are stuck in a holding pattern outside your destination for half an hour (as is often the case at Heathrow), is that better or worse than departing ten minutes late but landing at the time you expected to?

As a big Ryanair fan, who has had many excellent bargains and as many trouble free flights, I just love their new offer.

'Up To 33% off all our fares - GUARANTEED'

So they could actually actually raise the prices of all flights, and still fulfil the terms of the offer :)

It's the fact they guarantee it that I love.

I'll NEVER fly Ryanair again no matter how cheap they are.

A previous flight to Venice ended up at an airport over an hour away and the only transport was an expensive Ryanair bus service.

Really?! Oh for goodness sake. That is NOT the fault of Ryanair.

You booked the ticket, its your responsibility to know where you're going to be taken.

And this is why complaint stats are nothing to go on - because a significant number of complaints are made by complete idiots.

Ryanair make it clear exactly which airport you are flying to (in this case, Treviso). The piece of equipment that you used to book the flight can also be used to find out, very easily, exactly where the airport is and how you get from there to your final destination.

And as somebody has already pointed out, it is not a problem exclusive to Ryanair. Ask for a flight to London with British Airways and they'll offer to take you to an airport 30 miles away.

Treviso is great for Lido di Jesolo and other resorts on the adriatic.
