Yes, you are wrong. You should borrow someone elses' house (i.e rent) and then buy your own house when it's at its lowest price.0

The trouble is you don't know when prices are at their lowest until they are on the rise.
We bought in 1993 more or less at the bottom of the last crash (in our area at least) - we didn't know it was the bottom for quite a while. Prices were bumbling along - up a bit - down a bit. It would have been difficult to call the bottom.
We also sold at the bottom.
What we found the last time round, was in the end you get on with your life and do what is best for you.
We had wanted a bigger house, initially we had wanted to extend the house we were living in to give it an extra bedroom and bathroom and a bigger kitchen. The crash made it impossible for us to borrow the money to do the extension as borrowing the money would have taken us to nearly 100% LTV.
From a housing point of view and with hindsight the crash was the best thing that could have happened to us.
We had what the American's call a "cookie cutter" home, it was built by Bryant on a large housing estate it was nearly a decent house in a decent area.
The house we bought was in a better area, an area we wouldn't have looked at previously because of cost, built by a local builder and more individual. We bought probably the worst house in the best area.
At the end of the day you do what is best for you and your family regardless. Life goes on.0 -

For some MSE is a bubble, theres a whole world out there, seems some worry about what you cant influence in the bigger picture.
I agree, could it also be a case of "If I say something often enough it will become the truth" with some on here. eg "we are at the bottom" "my house hasn't dropped in value" and so on......0 -

Middle? We haven't even had the first interval yet.0 -

Well I'm back in the UK, my this OP got folk a bit worked up hey
, I 've skipped most of the replies, although with '17 thanks', the most on this thread, I guess I got the post about right.
One post I did see was a supposed 'dig' at the fact it was copied and pasted, well that's fine isn't it ??, especially when my first words said ' Shamelessly taken from HPC', it wasn't like I tried to hide it has my own work, I even acknowledged Cat 695 had posted it before, I just thought it was a timely reminder, and looking at the thanks count, it was well received, anybody disagree.............. tough sh*t.:D0 -
Why do you never miss a chance to pick on Carol? It's something you share with a number of personas on here. It's pathetic and nasty. Also shows you up for being a sad little twisted poster deep at heart, whose only occupation is the mindless nit picking you spend your time doing. Get a life Chucky (and your other ID's) you moron.

i'll tell you myself what you're going to do about it - nothing at all
