i'd rather pay more for a charity run with a large field of mixed runners than pay cheapness for what is essentially a club run, and you are going to be last by miles....

Although, walkers should be keeping to the left or something, so runners can run... albeit slowly if you're me!

Really!!! I'd rather be last - its likely I am going to be tomorrow as well, but free is my favourite kind of race :p:p

I prefer smaller races though - less queues for the loos and more people to aspire to be like :D

Maz, it wasn't me, I was driving so I was sober, it was a couple of blokes. And they'd had lots of whatever they were drinking!

Well done Linda! If you want a cheerleader I'll come down.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

It's not the end of the world to be last, but it can get a bit disheartening on the way round....

what's your race tomorrow Becks? If you are last tomorrow, it's only cause you're returning from illness.

Looking at previous years results is a good indicator of the level of runners, i figure when i did my first 10k this year at montrose in 1:17, someone else as slow as me will look at that next year and see that they can do it and not be miles behind... so i consider it doing my duty to widen the field for subsequent years!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

I agree being last isnt an aim but it happens and if you run a good time for you thats all that matters :D

Wimbledon 5k - I really am going to be last - usually the slowest person is about 30 minutes :rotfl::rotfl:, I'm aiming for 35 but I may not finish at all if I try to push too hard :eek:
