What is a "starter home"

In your opinion, what classes as a starter home? Seems on another thread I'm the only one who thinks a 1 bed flat / bedsit type place is not a starter home. My opinion of a starter home is a 1-2 bed house. I personally would never buy a flat, but a 2 bed flat also would class as a starter home. Somewhere where you can live…

tbh i think very few people buy 1bed/bedsits to live in themselves, they are usually bought to rent out to people who need no more space, than somewhere to rest their head. Flats arent designed as a place to rest in, they suit lifestyles that are spent predominatenly away from the property. A starter home, is somewhere you can relax, spread out and spend your 'social' time
