  • Bit fed up with books at the moment.
I'll mop the floors - I should be able to manage that but I'll need training! :rotfl:

Fair enough, I'll be your supervisor. :rotfl:

Speaking of work, payroll have lost my Student Declaration form (the one saying I don't earn enough a year to pay tax) so I've had to hand in another one today which means I won't get my tax refunded until next Fri. And because they're putting it onto my payslip, I'll be charged extra NI on the money I'm having refunded from the tax they shouldn't have taken off me in the first place. So Weymouth won't be booked until next Fri now. The room I want's still available though and my mum reassured that it probably won't go for a while as it's a single room. (My parents used to own a hotel) It's still a pain though.

I think we are all guilty of that sometimes Bookie. While theres a bit of a wallowing-fest going on, I was round at BFs house today ,she has terminal cancer, and went for a scan last week which showed disease progressing-she was kinda holdin' out for a "staying the same" type of thing, but no such luck. Why is it so unfair? She's works with severely handicapped kids, has wee ones of her own ,and has been told "3 years if your lucky"..what do you say to her??Sorry to bring things down but ......

    I feel humbled.
    What can you say?
I would try to pick up on what she is saying nd support that but try to read between the lines and give her opportunity to open up.
  • By coincidence, a school much closer to me (I've even taught there on one occasion at night) is advertising for a cookery teacher. This time it says a qualified teacher..........wonder if they'd consider me......it's only about 2 miles away.

I must be mad...........39 and wanting to go into teaching.........Buffy will be tearing her hair out screaming at the computer reading my posts :rotfl:

    Nevertheless she persisted.

She did open up-and had a good cry, and a rant too!
She wants to know if she should give her husband her "permission" to remarry...and who will check out her sons' girlfriends when he starts dating-make sure she good enough for him etc....

In that situation people need to rant and reflct.
Need to focus on the good times experienced but also to regret those they will miss.
How about a memory/ blessing sort of box where she sets out how much she has loved them and trusts them to make wise decisions?
( I know what I want to say but can't find the words to explain. Sorry).
