I Can't Afford to Pay Virgin This Month!!!

I cant understand why its £180 ..... we have the VIP package which is £85 per month which is broadband, TV (all channels sports/films etc) and phone (all standard calls free at any time - talk unlimited I think its called) , this £85 includes a V+ box plus another box and an extra box is £9.50.
Could you not ask VM to put you onto this package ????? You could nearly halve your monthly payment and get what looks to be the same package ....0 -
Can you sell anything to Cash Converters?
Have you got anything you could take them on The Buy Back Scheme?
Get instant cash for your goods today!
Here's how Buybacks work:- We buy your goods from you, and guarantee you the right to buy the goods back from us within 28 days.
- We give you cash for your Buyback goods.
- We will discuss your needs with you.
- We place the goods in secure storage.
- Within the next 28 days you can return to buy back your goods for the price we paid you for them, plus an option fee for the service.
- You can even extend the agreement by a further 28 days with our one-off renewal option - this involves paying the fee at the time of repurchase and at the time of renewal. Unfortunately no further extensions of the Buybacks agreement can be offered.
- All items will be tested in store at the time of purchase so there will be no recourse to vendor.
They would take advantage of your situation and offer you peanuts for stuff, all be it with a smile. If you had an item worth lets say £300. they will give you £50.00. Honestley dont insult yourself. They are todays high st !!!!!! Turpin. They were very good when they came on the market, but they know how to squeeze every penny out of your bad situation.0 -
right i did this today so i know it works, due to unforseen circumstances , and being 10 off my credit limit, i foned virgin up and told them i cant afford my payments and said i wanted to disconnect everything but my phone line , i was paying 75 quid a month , for all 3 services so wanted tv and broadband either reducing or turning off, was on ex large on these ,i was then asked why i wanted to disconnect and just told them i didnt have a problem with there services but i just couldnt afford them at the minute as things were tight , i was at first told that there was no smaller packages , so i just asked to have them turned off again ,man went away stating he wasnt happy about losing such a loyal customer and was going to speak to some one , he was away 3 seconds and i was offered exactly the same package i had but now im on 25 quid a month instead of 75, i was worried that this would only be a short term thing but no i am on this for a yr now ,
hope you get sorted
ah one more thing , last month my bill came in it was 140, kids had hammered phone and i phoned and tried to pay 80 and was told if i paid 1oo they would scrub the rest so they didnt have to charge the 10 late payment fee0 -
We're in a similar situation at the moment... Ive recently lost my job and myself and partner are both out of work at present.. the problem is that we signed up to the Virgin VIP package in feb 2009 and its on a 12 month contract (not a new connection, merely a service upgrade).. virgin wont help to reduce our costs.. we were only hoping to downgrade to M for a few months until we find work again... Anything we can do???0

Most of the time, calling the customer retentions team works if you explain the situation to them. Better to do this before the bill comes in though. £180 a month :eek::eek:
Those are certainly additional packages that you can get taken off. Call them and get them to take them off for a month, won't help this month if your bill has already been produced, but once you get your month in advance back, will certainly reduce it for next month, will also show them that you are trying to make sacrifices so you can pay your bill. You can't remove these services once your bill has gone into the collections process though, ie. late paying your bill.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
