if you wanted to transfer to another isa in the 5 year term you would have to give 90 days notice of transfer would this be possible

All ISA transfer forms I've seen have provision for serving notice before a transfer is completed. I think most people going in for this are likely to transfer out again before 5 years is up if there is something much better on offer.

I'm making the same move from Natwest (4.05% dropping to 2% in November), so I'll join the cross-yer-fingers club.
Ditto. I'm actually rather pleased now that they failed to complete my transfer from Cash ISA to eISA. That's two transfers Natwest has screwed up for me so far, maybe it'll be third time lucky! :D

    Where's the catch ?

If the recent events have taught us anything, its "if it seems to good to be true,it usually is".

I have already transferred my cash ISA into the Natwest e-ISA in April of this year. Addtionally, my £3600 subscription for 09/10 is within this ISA too. Can I transfer again into this Newcastle BS one? (actually, as a general question, can you transfer ISAs as many times as you want?)

If anyone can advise it would be appreciated.

Yes, you can transfer as frequently as you wish. But obviously you may lost interest whilst funds are in transit either in the post or in the clearing system, so switching too frequently may be a bad idea.

paul5046: Perhaps the catch is that the Newcastle BS in trouble? I don't know if that's true, and I've put this year's allowance in one of these accounts. I would certainly avoid going over the £50K limit, though.

5% doesn't seem to good to be true to me. :p

fairly new to ISA and investing so have a question (or 2!)on this 5 year ISA bond.

What if next April, I am still happy with the 5% cash ISA rate but instead want to invest in a Maxi Isa with another company rather than make a further contribution to this one....is that possible? As long as I dont add to this 5 year ISA..... I presume I can keep this ISA still? or would I have to close/transfer it, if i want to do a Maxi ISA next April?

Or am I stuck with making cash isa contributions for the next 5 years? sorry for the newbie question but just want to clear a few things up before I dive into anything.....little confused :o

I have applied online for this account and got a reference number. I also got a message saying a welcome pack would follow in 10 days.

Does anyone know if I have to wait for the pack before I send in the transfer form? If not, presumably I record the Newcastle BS reference number on the transfer form?

    Thanks in advance
