Hi,
Was driving to work my mind started to wonder like everyones does when you make the same journey every day!
However i was doing 70 (about 150-100m away) through mobile speed camera van, then slammed brakes on down to 60 (which is speed limit!)
What do you guys think?
Thanks

150m will be within range of the speed camera so they will have gotten a reading.

What that reading is  Car speedos often over read slightly, plus they may be an "allowance" on top of the 60 mph limit.

Ultimately you're gonna have to wait!

Though you may be better driving past rather than through a speed camera van, ;)

I'll try this again and hopefully be correct. They have 14 days to post it out to you so you should know in about a fortnight. Longer if car is leased and not registered to you.

Dunno if there would be a chance it clocked you before you reduced speed.

I got done for 34 in a 30 limit when I had seen the van and started breaking. I'd heard the 10% but think that is a myth or used to be the case with the older cameras.

Fingers crossed for you. I hope you are lucky.

I was sooo lucky the other week ,I was doing about 35 in a 30mph and saw a copper with a handheld .
he gave me a hand signal to slow down and that was all .
I was still worried for a couple of weeks that I would get a ticket ,but luckily escaped and lesson learned !!

Oh and that margin of error allowance is an urban myth ,hubby got a ticket for doing 42 in a 40mph near nottingham!! Hell you can sneeze and go a couple of miles over!!

If my memory serves me correctly, you are given 10% and then 3mph. So, in theory, you can be travelling at 69 and not get a ticket. However, a car's speedo is analogue and not 100% accurate so it is difficult to say how fast you were actually going. You might have been doing 65mph...or 73mph! Hard to say, but I think you might have scraped under it and be ok.

Forget all about it and deal with it if the ticket comes, pointless worrying about it now. But i think you'll escape it.

Your memory serves you wrong on this occasion and speedos are not meant to read over anymore.
