Numbers On Debit Card Rubbed Off

Options
Hi

The printed numbers on the front of my debit card have rubbed off. If I asked my bank (Halifax) to replace my card, firstly would it be free, as I have not lost the card and secondly would the card numbers be exactly the same?

An online site won't put any money back on my card until they have seen a copy of my debit card at the front, but most of the numbers have rubbed off.

Thanks for any help.

The online site needs to see the front of the card why...?

And card maybe same card number, maybe not. HSBCs are the same everytime (until the Visa / Solo switchover).

    I suspect they won't charge.

    Good luck!

Ive got a halifax card and they send me a new card whenever i ask. I have never been charged. The thing is everytime I get a new card the last two digits of the number change. Its still the same account though.

I assume you mean the paint on the numbers has rubbed off, and not that the raised lettering (numbering?) is no longer raised.

Can't you just get one of those silver pens/some tippex if being able to see the numbers easily is that important to you?

The card will work just as well whether the numbers have paint on them or not.

    huh?

If you want a new card, just tell them you've lost it or damaged it. Why would they charge you?
If you will the end, you must will the means.

They want the last 4 digits to confirm I am the cardholder.

I joined a gaming site through a cashback site and won with the free money they gave, so I now have £65 I can't withdraw.

Ironically, they will let me deposit if I wished too, but not withdraw back to the same card.

Something about online gaming law

 That's the 4 they want to see the most.

They want the last 4 digits and my name on the card.

My name is clear, but 3 of the last 4 digits have disappeared

Yes, the painted on numbers have rubbed off.

I'm not worried about the numbers, but the gaming site I want to withdraw money from, want a photocopy of the front of my card, with my name and last 4 digits visible.

I don't know why they'd charge me. I just don't trust banks to not charge me :D
