  • OllyM, thanks for your input. When I am logged into my Amazon.co.uk account, it does not show what you are quoting. It states what I have quoted.

When I log out of the Amazon account and revisit your/my link, I see a different page and it shows what you are quoting and T&Cs specify different number of points.

So, my quotation is not from an old link; Amazon have failed to update the information from one place and have different T&Cs depending on whether one is logged in our out of their Amazon account! God knows which is right.

We have had a AMEX credit card for the avios and benefits, but struggling to get reward flights, during school holidays as we are both teachers.

We put everything on our card and pay it off in full each month, our last years spend on the card was around 25k.

Does anyone have any recommendations for the best card out there.

    Many thanks

I luuurve my Amazon Credit Card. The promo they had for triple points for 3 months allowed me to earn £70 worth of vouchers, which is going to be a great help at Christmas! I will proably have earnt £100 worth by the end of the year :) I use it for all my transactions instead of my debit card, and just pay off in full each month. I found the customer services to be fine too, I used the online chat option to ask some questions and it was quick and easy. Online management is SO much easier than other cards I have had in the past, none of this 3 different passwords and questions to login malarky!

We've been saving our reward points for years and now have enough to get an iPad mini with a small supplement of £18. Yippee!

However when it comes to redeeming these points the website is an epic fail. For one month we have had "There was an error processing your order. Please try again later".

There is no phone number on the website. We've emailed them - no response. We've called MBNA - they can only process orders for shop vouchers (this works out that we'd have to pay £120 for the same iPad). MBNA do not have a phone number for More Rewards.

I googled More Rewards and found it is operated by Argos for Business. I called them - they can't help because orders have to be placed online.

Has anyone EVER been able to redeem their points? Does anyone know what else we can try? The website will not even let us send an email now - it says it has detected a threat! We've tried using different computers, phones and tablets with a variety of browsers.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you forumiters

Sadly this brilliant card dies on 30 September 2014 and I am struggling to find anything as good. What are other ex-Amazonians looking at please?

I was thinking of applying for the Sainsbury's Card.

Are Nectar points worth it in general ?

    Hi,

Quick q, I have an MBNA More Cash Visa/Amex and with the rate changes to nearly nothing I stopped using it end of last month. I've built up ~92£ in cashback. Will it go into credit ok (anniversary of the card is within the next few weeks). I then plan to spend it, pay it off and close the cards.

    Cheers,
    John
  • I currently use a Tesco credit card and pay this off in full every month.

Is there something better I could be using?

I probably spent about £200 a month on a credit card.

I understand cash back schemes etc aren't as good as they used to be hence probably staying put!

    Thanks

I've been looking for a card to replace the HSBC credit card before it halves its rewards scheme in 3 weeks time. Looking at Martins best buys list, and as we use the Asda store anyway, it made sense to apply for the Asda card as it will beat the new incarnation of the HSBC card.

The application is relatively simple as long as you know your net monthly income, that of your spouse and your monthly mortgage. The "accept" page takes about 3/4 minutes to pop up. I expected, and received, an accept but what I hadn't bargained for was a monthly limit of only £300,

I rang the phone number on the accept page to request a higher limit as this is totally inadequate for our requirements. We spend more than £300 per month at Asda alone. The operator was apologetic but said all new applicants are given this limit for review after 6 months! I asked for the application to be cancelled and she agreed.

I really feel this low limit should be added to the Asda section of the Best Buy Reward Schemes to prevent anyone else wasting their time.
