She just smiled and signed it all off! Wot a farce, but he got it so I'm not complaining! Think its more to see if u seem to be the person u say u r.

    Hi,
I had to leave my home due to some familial issues. Divorce matters are in the court and I am temporarily staying at my friends place. As I do not live at my permanent address, I do not appear on the Electoral register either.
I am submitting first UK passport application. What should I put down on section 2?
All my documents including bank/credit cards are at my actual (permanent) address, which I have redirected to my temporary address.
If I put down my family home (permanent) address, the chances are that if any of the post gets delivered to that address, I might not get it.
I have 2 options. I can put down my permanent address in section 2, but on section 8, I put down my office address for any posts; or
I put down my temporary address in Section 2, explaining on a separate sheet that due to some familial issues I am temporarily staying at my friend’s house; however my permanent address is different.....
    Any suggestion?
Does anyone know questions they normally ask during interview?
As I am not on Electoral register on any address, what should I say if they highlight this?
I live in Ealing (west London) and the closest interview centre is in Elephant & Castle, which is not too close (atleast an hour drive). Are there any alternates they may offer?
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

I've just booked an appointment for tomorrow. I'm a nervous wreck about it as I'm rubbish at remembering things like numbers, no way do I know my bank numbers!. Neither can I remember many details about my deceased Mother! Why should I have to know dates of her marriages, divorces and widowhoods?, I hope they don't ask!

I reckon they just want to check my photo because I look foreign, it's strange how 4 other people who I know, in the same city, who have applied for a first passport this year haven't had to have an interview!

If they can't tell that you're a British citizen with all the valuable documents you send them, then it's pretty poor!

Another thing is, thank goodness I held onto my marriage certificate, they are usually destroyed by the solicitor at the divorce, the passport people no longer accept a degree absolute as proof of name change fron single to married!, so how would I have managed?

I'm annoyed with the whole thing, it's not as if it will stop one insane terrorist coming here and illegal immigrants would just come in a lorry avoiding paying £80+ and all the rotten paperwork!, it is just causing stress and upset to bonafide citizens!

It's not as if I am going abroad, fat chance of affording that with all these fees, no I just need it for ID. We live in a terrible world where nobody trusts anybody any more, how did it come to this?

ChelleC, you may be worrying unnecessarily. You will mainly be asked to confirm facts about yourself, which someone trying to steal your identity is perhaps unlikely to be able to do.

Take a look at this page, it tells you who needs to be interviewed and why:
