I applied for on-line banking access once discharged-but they still refused;so frankly, unlike one of the above posts-i don't think you get access to on line banking post discharge.

Has anyone successfully got on line banking after discharge with barclays ?

I have, got everything except an overdraft (card/chip+pin/online, etc)

did you owe barclays in the BR though? sore losers abound, the coop refused me

I've got the Connect card and online banking too. My account was opened a few months after my bankruptcy though. I did apply the day after my bankruptcy but I was declined because one of my Barclaycard (credit card) accounts had just gone into arrears (by a few days) and the other had just gone over it's limit.

I went in a few weeks after to appeal but my records had been deleted from their system. I'm guessing they added the BR marker but then deleted my records. When I applied again a few months down the line, there was no record of my bankruptcy or accounts. I believe this is why I still have access to online banking.

I had a cash card account for 2 years just upgraded to a currant account was told no probs with on-line banking.Went to set it up and could not so went back to the branch and was told that the only way to get the "marker" removed was to get a discharge cert which will cost me 60.00.
I have now cone to the conclusion that being discharged is no better than being undischarged. How in gods name are we supposed to sort out finances when we cant see what our accounts are doing.

tbh i don't mind having no connect card nor any online banking ... i am discharged Br and i will not change it .... it help to be more "hand on" on my momney an don what i spend .... altyhough i do keep a daily spreadsheet which i think it help a lot when it comes to managing my finance .... sinc ei went BR i had more moneuy in my account than it was a year agos !

The co-op refused me as their were a creditor albeit a small one in comparison to my other creditor ..... so i am not bother this is thier loss .
