    morning all.

Tenmah - well done to your daughter!

Bookie - (putting on media training hat :D ) newspapers detest those large cheque photos because they are bombarded with them every day. Everyone thinks using the big cheque brings attention to what has been achieved and is a bit quirky but the press really dislike them. The thing to do is to set up a photo which is a bit different you can send a press release with. For example - if the gang yesterday had done a collective charity collection, I would get them in their running gear beforehand and take a photo of them pretending they were just about to start running, or if they were off on a long bike ride, have them all dressed up in bike gear with rucksack on back etc.

Getting a photo in the paper is more and more difficult now because many people have access to digital cameras and press photographers are becoming fewer and fewer. A good photo taken by yourself or someone who can come along with you which is then emailed iwth a press release about the presentation will be more likely than a photo of a group with a cheque or a line of business men shaking hands .

If you tell me what the presentatio is about, I can give you some ideas for the photo. It might mean you quickly arranging something but it will be more likely to be published.

    Thanks BB.
We are presenting a cheque for £660 to the Rainbows Children's Hospice - a local hospice which provides respite and terminal care for children with shortened life expectency. The Brownies raised it by bag-packing at Morrisons. The Rainbows are building an extension and the buildings will be linked with a wall built of different coloured bricks. We will be able to 'buy' a £500 one which we can put an inscription on. This is all part of our 'Changing the World' project in preparation for our centenary which launches in September.

    Morning everyone

Tenmah well done to your DD :T

I am at work and fretting about my manager booking this 45 minute meeting to discuss having a !!!!!!! day off - why has she done this, why? And why is it not for two days? to make me sweat? She has no idea about me and what's happened lately, it's not something I can talk about, but a day off - !!!!!! - !!!!!!! and she has booked a meeting ROOM - can't understand why as there are quiet corners when people just have a chat - booking a meeting room just signals bad news and I just don't get it - god I feel sick.

Going to apply for a job I am probably not good enough for but it is all there is!

DD... :grouphug: You go for it with the job application!

Morning everyone :) Well done to all the runners for Sunday, fab times! Well done Tenmah's daughter, and well done Bookie for making such a brave decision. Sal hope you feel better soon. Snaggles, woohoo! ;)

    Today I am mostly sleepy.

ok - I would try to set up a photo with some carrier bags with stuff in them (doesn't matter what is in them) and the Brownies as if they are packing them for the main person at the Hospice. If you can feature one ofthe bricks in the middle of the photo, it links it in even more. If you can set something up in the next day or so with Morrisons, even better.

    Avoid this kind of shot

    Ideas for the press release
Brownies pack their bags for Bricks

Local Brownies have raised £660 for the Rainbows Children Hospice.

The 25th xxxx Pack (insert name here!) packed the bags of shoppers at Morrison during May to raise funds to buy a brick for the planned extension at the hospice. The existing and new buildings will be linked with a wall built of different coloured bricks. The cheque was presented to the hospice on 22 June.

The Rainbows Children's Hospice is a local hospice which provides respite and terminal care for children with shortened life expectency. Each brick costs £500 and the Brownie pack will have an inscription on the one they have fundraised for.

The fundraising was part of the 'Change the World' project in preparation for the Guiding Centenary celebrations starting in September. Guides and Brownies across the UK have teamed up with 18 charities and and 19 projects have been created to raise money and change the world we live in.

Guiding Assistant Commissionaire, Bookie, said "The girls were really keen to help fundraise and the shoppers were very generous in donating in return for their bags to be packed for them."

Notes to Editor: Photo shows (insert details of who is in photo)

Bookie isn't feeling so brave this morning!

Sally - take it easy. Don't want you passing out. Did you rehydrate yourself enough after yesterday?

He's just coming here for coffee and a DVD. Not really ideal, but if we do 'proper' dates, I can only see him once a fortnight. I'm going to get the kids in bed for 8-ish, and he'll be here around 8.30pm.

We've been talking on the phone most days (he rang me last night about 1am because we were both still awake, and we were still chatting at 2am!), and we seem to get on so well. Not rushing into anything but I like him a lot. :)

ah yes he is bringing his oil isn't he...now I remember ;)
He sounds lovely snags and if you are able to chat thats always a great start! You do realise that tonight will be one of those nights that the kids don't go to bed...you are going to have to wear them out so they are tired!
