Just off to get the sticky...............................

Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Mon 22nd June. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone is welcome, so please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have screens, or slow internet connections, so please DON'T post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning. Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Wow where is everyone??

Lovely and sunny here in Essex, pity I am in the office all day - hopefully it will spur me on to work quickly and escape :D

OH will be doing the washing, garden & hoovering the house today. We had a massive clean and tidy up on Friday and its still holding up well.

OH absolutely hated the boot sale yesterday - so many people had money and items nicked off their stalls, loads of people claiming wrong change had been given to them & the police were called. He still made £70 after the extortionate pitch fee of £15 so is happy but wont be going there again (was Rettendon Lazy Bones). We now had a decent amount of spending money for our 4 day trip to Pontins in August with friends, cant wait really need a change of scenery.

So aim today is to get out of the office asap, Iron the clothes that dried yesterday & keep on top of the house so we dont have to spend a whole day catching up. Very easy tea of hot-dogs and chips tonight as we have DS friend over who eats very little - sausages and chicken is about it.

(((hugs))) to anyone who needs one and have a great day even though it is Monday :o

    Morning all

Hope everyone is well, it looks like it night be another nice day here :T, need to have a good clean through today, hoover and mop floors.

We have visitors coming over from the USA today, so will get the work done, and go out to meet them.

Yesterday we went to the country fair which was great, had a lovely day out and a picnic, which we finished it off for tea. I found a little boy at the fair who had lost his mum, he was only 2 bless him, I took him back to the official tent, and got a tannoy put out, within 2 mins in the poor frantic mum came, she was so pleased to see him and so grateful. It was nice to see a happy ending.

Not sure whats for tea, it might be fish and chips down at the seafront for the US visitors.

Need to do an online shop today as well.

Hugs where needed, and have good days all xx

    Morning everyone.
Essex Girl, Sun? What's that? Horrible and cloudy here :( Weather yesterday wasn't much better. Even had rain although not enough to fill my water butt which is now empty!!
I have my first head (is that the correct term) of broccoli coming :T so am rather stupidly excited about that. My carrots are also coming on a treat too. Actually the garden looks rather lush and green. The only let down is the lawn, too much clover.
Have got to put BM on, hang out some washing (if I think it will stay dry) and if I have the energy actually do some cleaning. This cold I've had from the kids has left me with zero energy and a massive headache and achey ears most of the time. Can see why DS ended up with an ear infection. As such I've not got much done other than to keep tidying up.
Tea tonight will be baked bean and potato hash with some salad. It's a WW receipe and in their receipe book it looks more like they are serving a wedge of quiche but mine for some reason always turns out more sloppy :o

Anyway have a good day everyone OS or not.:o

    Morning Guys!

Back up at the hospital this morning to find out whats happening with my bloods and impending hospital stay. Nurse will be here at 8am.

WM has just finished, so OH will hang out after taking DD to school. Another load needs to be put on. House clean and tidy. Toilet cleaned:p DD has her friend coming over after school, so I am doing a Sausage Cassarole with onions, mushrooms, peppers & peas and serving with baked spuds as the oven is on anyway. Going to get a couple of raspberry turn overs as they are down to 69p for 2 for their desert.

OH got most of the bedroom yesterday and it looks brilliant-cant wait for it to be finished!

Also, OH has paid and signed up for level 2 sign language starting September:beer:

My friend called yesterday to say that I had made over £80 on Ebay:j:j:j:j....I am really pleased and theres a couple more bits to go and some havent sold. It is being paid into my Paypal account, so will need to sort fees out etc with her.

My laptop keeps dying. It is nearly 4 yrs old and is used daily, so dont think it has done bad. Have looked at one at Asda reduced to £275 and its the exact one DD saved up and bought 2 years ago for £600:eek::eek::eek:....I have £220 saved towards one, so think I will buy it if they have any left. It has Vista though and I am used to XP, so that will be interesting:D Will use Skycard, then thats nearly £3 off my sky bill too. Whenever I buy anything over £50 now, I feel guilty.....blooming MSE:rotfl:

MSD-I have to inject/stab my finger daily and you will get used to it.

    I am rambling again-sorry.

DG-I know Ashford well. Visit the Macgarthurglen designer outlet if you get a chance...some great bargains to be had there.

    Wimbledon starting today:j:j:j:j

    Take care everyone.

    Morning everyone,

It's been pelting down here for the last 2 days. Hopefully Bingo will cheer me up tonight. :D Cooked lime drizzle cake this morning. Also made coleslaw & vegetable pasties for tea & DH is making hot herb potatoes now. Using up some white sweet potato for that.

Didn't do a great deal over the weekend. DH & I were rather obsessed with a computer game which we both finished. I was going to treat myself to a day shopping this week but the weather's putting me off. We melt over here if rains gets on our skin. :D

Belated Father's Day wishes. Ours isn't until September. Hope you all have a happy day & <hugs> to those not well. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all!

kjsam - happy birthday to your DH:bdaycake:

PP - good luck at the hospital. Those laptops sound good value.

DH has gone back to work this morning after a week off, he was up at 1.20am:eek: I'm back tomorrow morning at the much more reasonable time of 11am.
    Plans for today are
washing(DS1 has brought me a load or 2)
cleaning job(vaccuming for an elderly lady)
search the freezers for something for tea.
    ironing any washing that dries.
help tidy the garden after putting up the new shed yesterday - lots of wood to recycle from the old sheds. DH is going to use it to make some raised veggie beds for next year.

Hope you all have a great day

    take care xx
