Can I get O2 Broadband if I am with sky talk (landline) instead of BT?

Hi, they charge £25 for line connection (BT will charge £125). However, I got 12 motnhs free phone line rental with sky as new customer.

I called o2 yesterday and they said I cant have their broadband package because I havent got a BT line, I'm on skytalk (with sky tv). Sky on the other hand wanted to charge me £17.99 a month for their broadband because.... I havent got a BT landline!!! good luck with getting O2 with skytalk

I have o2 and sky line rental and calls and it works perfecty fine.

Why dont you have Broadband with Sky (or have I missed something)
It free or £5 per month. you also can have free phone calls evening and weekends.

Sky is in the process of switching from shared access local loop unbundling to fully unbundled. New customers who take Sky Talk Line Rental and Sky Broadband will go on the new Sky network, and all existing customers who wish to transfer will be able to do so before the end of the year.

Nevermind, I have input my home phone number on o2 page, it said "The phone number doesn't seem to be for a BT landline. Please check it and try again. You can't get O2 Broadband unless you have a BT landline"

I hope the number has not yet been activated, so the result is like this. I hope I can get o2 broadband after sky engineer comes to install and activate the phone line.

Anyone can confirm me that I will be allowed to get o2 broadband with my sky talk (&sky line rental)?? Many people confirmed that sky talk will do with o2 broadband in my previous thread. Is this still true?

by the way, I still have to wait until next 10 days before I will be able to get home broadband which will take another two weeks....*sighhhh

I am pretty sure you wont be able to get it. It is a bit different if you had a BT line, had O2 broadband installed then moved line rental to Sky, than if you did it the other way around with line rental with Sky then tried to get O2 broadband. O2 cannot check non-BT lines as BT do not have the information.

The engineer has just come to activate the phone line. Now I can get o2 broadband. I have just tried to put my home phone number on the o2 website again and it works!!! Yeahhhhh
