    Can you confirm that you've actually installed the drivers rather than simply extracted the contents of the compressed archive to a folder?

    Hi Tangle footyes have installed the drivers, extracted and then went through install process for each driver....

    the cable that runs from the modem to wireless router or pc if wireless router is not thereso ineffect cable into modem from source (in my case virgin) then lead out from modem to pcthat was just to try and achieve hardwire connection just to try and find necessary drivers to get back up on wireless as this is how I normally connect with the laptop

    hi tanglefoot, no there is not, and no arrow to show/hide unused icons....not sure what is going on really... :-(

    I haven't got the laptop hardwired at the moment as I have to take the connection off this pc.....but when I did connect it it didn't connect to the internetno nothing showing in network connections, but there was earlier.....argghhhhh this is driving me nuts lolwouldn't mind but only did all this the other week, and somehow... god knows how it started running really odd after upgrading to IE8.... well thats what I thought but I don't use the laptop very often so who knows what has been done to it when its been in use....
