Payplan

Thanks Tixy, I appreciate the response.
Ive had two calls this week so far and as soon as I mentioned I had talked to payplan, they accepted it without pushing (barclaycard & littlewoods), so Im taking that as a major positive they are receptive to the idea already.
Rather strangely Im looking forward to talking to Payplan tomorrow, even though I know its likely to lead to some major disciplining on my part from now on.0 -
In 4 years I have never had to submit any bank statements to Payplan. I kept my account, cleared a £700 overdraft I had with it. Payplan knew about it and allowed me to sort it out with my bank. I decreased the overdraft by £50 a month and it took a long time. I was able to get extra cash sometimes typing for friends and as I had sky and Payplan dont allow for sky on their plan it was their suggestion that this "treat" money was used for that although not documented anywhere. They also suggested I could save a little of the cash to build up for full and finals or holidays/birthdays as that is also not on their plan.LBM: March, 2005

Thanks for that Jilly. Sky is something I had a little panic about as I cant live without sky sports!!
I was wondering how thorough they are going to be about my own finances, as my income fluctuates depending on overtime also. I'll stick to my basic I think & see what they can come up with.
To be honest, the way Natwest have been lately I want to change my account anyway.
Thanks again0 -

Thanks again0 -
I have already applied to Halifax who as far as I know have no direct links to any of my debts (although they are linked to Natwest I understand)0

I keep reading on here about people on DMPs arranging payments themselves, but I was under the impression that you made a single payment to payplan and they sort it out.
It doesnt really matter either way I suppose, was just confusing me is all.
Oh and how long does it usually take for it all to be set up? I get paid tomorrow and so need to know wether to try and make the minimum payments I usually try and make or just to ignore them for now.
Thanks again.
ps. I know I could ask them tomorrow when they call, it was just bugging me.0 -
Cool, I like the sound of that. So many missed calls and answerphone messages. I may feel lonely without them!!
Thankyou all again. Its a great source of support on here0 -
I think that was the most enjoyable conversation Ive ever had about my debts
Payplan were incredibly helpful & non judgemental.
Always had it in my head that (even though I was living on credit) I would be left with nothing to myself after working out repayments, but they tweaked a few things and I think I will be £150 a month better off than I expected, even taking into account things like sky & nights out.
I know its not a done deal yet and obviously all the creditors need to accept. Plus Im expecting a couple of months of phone calls, but I feel more positive about my money than I have for years. Better still it should only take about 4 years to clear which is no time at all in my eyes:j
Thankyou all for your advice, not just in this thread but on this site. It gave me the inspiration to make the call:T0 -
Great news wonderstuff, glad to hear you are feeling positive about things. Yes you can expect calls for a month or 2 but just quote the Payplan number and many will back off. Some will still hound you but you can always just give the number, and firmly tell them you are hanging up.
4years is great, and glad to hear you feel you have some breathing space in your budget (sometimes referred to on here as 'wiggle room').wonderstuff wrote: »Cool, I like the sound of that. So many missed calls and answerphone messages. I may feel lonely without them!!
