Hi there - just a quickie, do you find out if you've been accepted instantly if you apply online or is it usually a case of waiting 10 days for a decision by post?

If you've got one the first thing you'll know is when the card actually arrives (as you signed electronically when applying online by ticking the box at the end).

Don't know if it's me but have many people been given £3500 as a limit....that seemed to be the going rate on the SkyCard a short time ago.

On the branch application I have it asks where you want to transfer balance from and exact amount. Does it do this online?

I don't know amount until end of this month, just had a big month of car ins/tyres/exhaust/holiday/dell laptop(blame MSE for that!) and want to spread the payments so won't actually know balance until get statement at end of month.

Is this a problem, as I read it you have 60 days to transfer balance so don't see why I have to put it on form?

You should be able to ring them to do it...upon receipt of the card you have to phone an 0800 number to activate it - you might be able to do it then if you chose to wait after you received the card.

I haven't yet found a way to do it online, although I only registered my account today.
  • Found the process fairly quick, applied online last weekend, £4.4k limit, received card Wednesday and did fee-free balance tfr by 0800 phone when activating card.

Applied online 6th April and recieved card through the post today. I only got a small credit limit £1750, but it still helps towards clearing my 5 months egg stooze (10K limit).

Has anyone successfully appealed their limit?

I have got £1600, but looking on my Equifax report today, it is showing old Capital One and Llloyds TSB cards, with a total limit of £5500, as still active when I closed them months ago. I have been getting Experian to chase these up but not Equifax. I intend letting Barclays know that these are closed and hope they can up my limit a bit.

Got a 8k limit fairly quickly but was told when I rang to activate the card that I need to spend £1 per month to keep the promotional rate ? When I said there's no mention of that in the terms and conditions, the CA said it was in the T's and C's she just read out to me ? Eh ?
