Re Alias and the debit - I was told by my credit card holder that my £55.00 had been freed by them but not called by B&Q, and that it was availble for 7 days to be 'pulled' by them. When challenged B&Q said I should have been contacted and told the transaction had been cancelled, but I never was. I have the name of the person I spoke to in 'customer service.'0

Does that surprise you? You have trawled through theirs after all.

Oh, thanks for the advice, but not really necessary.
I am very well read on this thread, thanks.“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -

And think, if you can have a weekend away with the £301 they paid you for your dishwasher claim, just think where you can go with this claim. How exciting.“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn't hurt.” Charles M Schulz0 -

Butt-lins?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
We have spent literally thousands of pounds wih B&Q over the past twelve months. In general I like the company and the service they provide but this is not the first time they have cancelled an order I placed in this way (and no, I'm not referring to a dishwasher either).
I would like to see them brought to task over this.0 -
I have read the new T&Cs and this is great news going forward. Well done B&Q for admitting your mistake. However, again there is nowhere on the site to accept the T&Cs before placing the order, I will ask TS to look at this and judge whether this affects whether B&Q can rely on them. They have added the T&Cs at the bottom of the page so that is a start.
I am going to be pushing (and hope others can too) for TS to judge whether it was wrong of B&Q to write to customers telling them that their order could not be accepted. I have reforwarded over the old T&Cs at the time. Hopefully TS will ask B&Q to write to affected customers explaining a contract was formed.

Got to agree. This has been a great thread, lots of fun and most of all very helpful. I fully expected more negativity, but it hasn't really happened - apart from only a couple of members, so very positive.
Things do look rosier day by day, fingers crossed for a decent holiday out of this, if not you ebayers may get your water tanks after all.

I think B&Q are drawing a line underneath this now so all claims should be filed.0

Sadly, I think the only way B&Q may settle is once they receive notification from MCOL. So filing is a must if you want anything out of this.
Think of it as an investment and not a gamble. Things can go wrong, but I would be amazed if they won, especially after advice from T/S.
It has got to be your call at the end of the day, but I believe we hold the aces - GOOD LUCK.
