B&Q are offering alternative tanks probably at nowhere near the cost of settling in cash (and probably nearer the £50).
Additionally I didnt see one post in here that stated anyone had received a judgement or full settlement of £1000 approx from B&Q - could you direct me to this?
My claim was settled in full, so thats one. Justpoppingin(#972), so thats two. Anyone else ?0 -
Yup, me too, court costs refunded, then two tanks + delivery paid in full - anyone know the best underground water tanks to get these days now the Argonaut is no more?0

On 28 of August last, I wrote a little rhyme
About our lack of water tanks and all the wasted time
And money, effort too, that we - and they - had spent
Discussing and debating about exactly what was meant
By terms of contracts and discretion, glitches and no stock.
They called in lawyers, highly paid, to argue in the dock.
Then letters came, and offers too, of tanks to some, or money.
While others had their day in court – I guess that wasn’t funny!
But now we’re gagged and silent, so is this thread now dead?
It seems to be, because , you know, so little can be said.
We do not know what happened – how many got their tanks?
How many got some money? We’d love to know! But thanks
To lawyers and their rules I guess we’ll never know
So let’s forget it all, move on. But wait a second tho!
I think that some did get a tank, so now what is the scheme?
It’s winter now, too cold to dig, we need a brand new theme.
I’ve thought and thought about the tanks, their size and shape and – Wait!
I’ve just come up with three ideas, I don’t think it’s too late.
The first one’s easy: we've got snow, sp somewhere you can see
The biggest snowman on the block, he’s fat and round – and free!
The second one is harder and it needs a lot of skill
You need some helium balloons, a rope and probably a hill.
Just fill that tank with helium, attach the foresaid rope
Then add some lights and up it goes (with fingers crossed in hope!)
A UFO from B&Q just floating in the sky
They never thought of that one (and in truth neither did I).
For number three you need to go to B&Q and buy
Some stuff I know that they will have: some clips, a tap – but why?
Well, add it to your kitchen - can you see which way this goes?
You’ll also need a section of some flexible, clean hose.
For my last plan’s the biggest fun! It’s really party time!
We’ll fill the tank with alcohol: beer, or just plain wine.
It’s got a pump: so off we go. It’s celebration day!
You’ve got your tank, it’s full of booze! Hip-hip, hip-hip hurray!
Then drink to all your absent friends, like Tom and Lynsey – cheers!
Pocoyo and her blog spot which helped so much! So here’s
To everyone who posted on this thread - I’m signing off this time
I hope that you enjoyed the final section of my rhyme.0 -
I've got my court date. B&Q mucked around so much with the consent order I gave up! Off to court I go.. Will keep you updated as and when things develop.0

Hello all,
I'm a bit behind the rest of you with my claim but B&Q are using the defence that I never actually paid because they didn't debit my card. I did complete a transaction & they sent me a confirmation & cancellation email. Has anyone else been in this position? I'm thinking it makes no odds because I could not have completed the transaction without entering a valid credit/debit card.
Cheers & thanks for all the advice.0 -

Thanks TBeckett, I'll have a look at that now.0

Disco Dave,
I ordered a number of them, hey took the funds for some and not for others. However although they didn't take the monies out they 'ringfence' it. Thereby ensuring the funds are there. Therefore, you've bought them, which they confirm in their defence.
Court case coming soon so I will keep you updated. I have to send the evidence off soon. Does anyone know what format I should use? I was just going to send a covering letter detailing my account with reference to letters/emails.0 -
Hellowski, there is a section on my blog which deals with compiling your court evidence: http://iwantmywaterbutt.blogspot.com/2009/08/compiling-your-evidence-for-court.html
Disco Dave, this is the link for the main page of my blog: http://iwantmywaterbutt.blogspot.com/. All the details should be there; if you have any questions PM me.0
