Just ring the man you bought it from and see if he will refund you on return.
offer a 5% restocking fee, he might go for it unless it has been ordered in for you specially - good luck, let us know how you get on.
The lesson is when youve bought something - stop looking!!!!
Good approach. Offer something back to the retailer.0 -
You've not been ripped off in the slightest.
you just didnt do enough research.
I offer you something for sale at x price, you accept it and pay, not my fault its available elsewhere at a cheaper price
see if the company has any form of lowest price guarantee.0 -
Thanks for the comments. Basically ive had a disaster of a week as a kitchen designer designed my new kitchen wrong and now it dosnt fit and i have to have major works done to my property to make it fit and im living in such a mess without a cooker or fridge and have been for over a week now. Yesterday I got told my fridge which I ordered a month ago would not be delivered for at least another 2 months after being told it was in stock and they even asked when they could deliver it. That was icing on the cake and yes I went out and just purchased this fridge something I never do without researching but this just seems like icing on the cake. I guess your right I havn't been ripped off but its not like its £20 more expensive where I wouldnt mind but its £120 and he knocked money off this for me! I jusy wonder if after hearing my story and seeing how desperate I was if he took advantage of this to make a quick buck.2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j0

I am getting the feeling that maybe somehow you are the author of your own misfortunes. It's all in the detail..0

That does sound stressful, but look at it this way - do you know that the cheaper fridge could have been delivered to your schedule, might have taken several weeks, millions of phone calls, more stress, - would there be a hefty delivery fee, did it include VAT? In other words, the grass might not have been that much greener:D:D0

you bought from a small store.you can hardly compare their prices with an internet store
i recently bought a new TV,it was £80 more than online however i weighed up the benifits of having a local contact for problems over an internet seller0 -
I purchased a new Dyson last month and it was £5 cheaper else where, maybe i should demand £5 from where i brought it!
I don't see your problem tbh - its your own fault, i thoroughly researched my Dyson - and settled on an independent - mainly because he was the one who had it in stock and my carpet needed cleaning!!!! Unless your were under duress where you purchased your item, you have not been ripped off in the slightest!!:beer:In My 'Permanant' Pre-Masters Gap Year

Currys for example even online can sometimes be more expensive
I got a FF in March it was £100 cheaper in Boots than Currys
MIL got a Beko last month item would take 2 weeks to get and cost more then a local independent and 4 days delivery time
As mentioned you need to do your home work because you can't go back once you agreed, it can work both ways0 -
I have compared the items like for like including VAT, Delivery etc and the difference is £120 not £5 you can hardly compare that in this day and age can you? I asked for advice yesterday as I felt that I was given an unfair deal, yes it is my fault I did not check online but as I explained above I have had a hell of a week and not been able to eat a proper meal as I didnt have a fridge or cooker. I apreciate what some of you have said, however I do wonder why some people bother to post when they just want to rip into you. I have accepted it was partly my own fault for not doing my research but I still feel I have been significantly over charged for a product which I was told was a deluxe model but has since found is standard. I have rang the company and said I was disapointed to find the product much cheaper else where even though their slogan is 'it pays to shop local' well it cost me £120. They said they understand why I am upset as in this day and age money is tight and will ask a manager to contact me tomorrow. Thanks to all those who posted informative responses.2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j0

While £120 is more than I'd necessarily expect, I would expect to find something cheaper online than I would in a shop for the simple reason it costs less to operate a warehouse with a PC in the corner than it does to operate a shop.
You could well ask if this place will price match or take it back or whatever, but they're not obliged to. One thing to consider: Would it be easier to deal with the local shop or some online place in the event of a problem later on?If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything0
