Hi all,
Purchased a fridge freezer today using my credit card at a local independant store and just came home and found the same item £120 cheaper online. Is there anything i can do about this? Any help would be gratefully recieved.
Thanks

Actually you haven't been 'ripped off'.
You agreed to buy your freezer at a certain price and have now found it cheaper elsewhere. Unless the independant retailer from whom you bought it has a returns policy where they will allow you to change your mind there's not much you can do.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Should have done your research before you set out.
Ring the retailer and see if they do refunds.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Should have checked on-line first?
Could suggest a few things but wouldn't be too kosher , and you'd likely end up with "vouchers" with the independent rather than a refund. Or a nice big fine for trying "it on"0 -

It's hard not to feel ripped off when the retailer assured us that this was the best price around and was a so called deluxe model even though this appears to be the norm!
As for doing research i always do but after a very stressful week needed an easy solution lesson learnt, i was just looking for some advice in order to reach a resolution.2010 Wins: Benecol Bag For Life, £150 FCUK Voucher, Rimmel Foundation, L'oreal Mascara, £60 worth of hair products, £100 :j0 -

Sorry but I think you are stuck with it.
Look on the bright side - you thought you were getting a good deal, and quite possibly have done. It's like anything you buy, NEVER check prices elsewhere after buying!
And "rip off". Why? Willing seller and willing buyer. You have not been ripped off.0 -
The only thing you can do is see if the independant has a returns, refund or price matching policy of some kind but this will be them being generous as legally there is nothing you can do. I would just see this as an expensive lesson.Halifax £744 and coming down

If it's been bought on a credit card, is there any way it might be subject to the 'cooling off' period that you get with loans? I have no idea, but I'm just wondering....Reason for edit? Can spell, can't type!0

Just ring the man you bought it from and see if he will refund you on return.
offer a 5% restocking fee, he might go for it unless it has been ordered in for you specially - good luck, let us know how you get on.
The lesson is when youve bought something - stop looking!!!!make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
