HI Mrs Moc, I did mean to PM you about my placenta previa but couldnt find the right words, I had a bleed last Sunday at about midnight after a bath and just before i was going to bed, the first time i didn't notice any signs before the bleed, i just felt tight and crampy suddenly and then woosh, this morning i woke up to some thick jelly mucus mixed with both brown blood and some red. since then i have had another bit this afternoon.... am just hoping it comes to nothing.

I had my last scan when i was in hospital on Tuesday and that said that the placenta was still partially covering the internal OS, they're saying they'll still scan at 36 weeks to see if anything has changed but i don't see how it will move that far in 2.5 weeks when it hasn't moved out of the way throughout my pregnancy so far?

Dishes and vacuuming are still on my list. I'll get to them...

OH has been super busy doing enormous amounts of clearing out, but he's a bit demoralised I think cause he keeps bringing me things asking if they're worth holding onto and I keep saying no. There was a rucksack where the entire side was ripped and it smelled of basement, and he was wondering if it was salvageable.

    TMI follows:

Left nipple really, really sore, and whenever I go to the bathroom it looks like someone spit phlegm in there before I used it. I don't think the mucus plug is supposed to look like that, but it's pretty rotten.

    Hi Glam :D

Hypno, im sorry to hear you have previa, i know how scary the bleeds can be especially the initial bleeds.

If your placenta partially covers the os then its grade 3 and will be highly unlikely to move at this stage, did they talk to you about a section

Did the hospital not tell you to phone an ambulance immediately if you bleed again. I dont want to scare you but these bleeds can be life threatening and you need to move fast when they happen which will most likely be at night for some reason.

I know I cant give medical advice, but Im happy to tell you anything from my experience, which was grade 4 previa + I've read just about every piece of literature there is on this subject.

The mucus is actually your plug or show but regenerates if its been dislodged by the placenta instead of labour signs. I think I had around 9 shows by the end :o. Some took up to 3 or 4 days to pass and others took a day. The bleeds normally came within about 48 of the mucus finishing.

Feel free to PM me at anytime with any questions, I know we are all individual and what applied to me may not apply to you but if I can be of help at all let me know.

Evening ladies hope your all still well :-)

Big labour vibes for Tara and anyone else who needs them.

Hi Hypno i had placenta previa as well with my second one it worrys you sick bleeding all the time as Mrs Moc says get your self to hospital everytime it starts its better safe than sorry. Mine didnt move until a few days before he popped out which was at 35 wks so it can still happen although worried sick about him coming early ( which wasnt a problem as it turned out he was small but healthy) i was so relieved i didnt have to have a C sec. Fingers crossed everything moves for you chick :-)

They did advise me that i would most likely have a section but i have an appointment with the consultant at the hospital this week so i assume they'll have more to tell me then, and they did say to call an ambulance if i have another bleed but at the moment i'm not really bleeding but if anything happens we'll be up at the hospital as soon as poss!

at the moment i'm just keeping myself distracted and seeing what happens, fingers crossed nothing at all will happen!
