if ds gets the 'pox' i would buy camomile lotion and db it on at night time or after a bath etc it certainly helps relieve the itching. my mum used it on me and i have no scars at all from the pox. oh mum didnt use any and he has some small scars,. (though he may have been naughty and picked at them...)'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

I think i prefer it to be called a sweep than a cervical scrap around _pale_
I asked my mother in law how sister in law was as she is 7 days over due and she replied she was having the above term. Yuk it made me shudder, She then wanted details of what they did to me in hospital :eek: Not something i wanted to talk about really. Hubby said put it this way the MW was up to her elbow _pale_This is my signature!0 -

the classes that NCT do near us are £120
that buys us a cot, mattress, bedding and lots of nappies.
will i miss out on something if i/we dont go??
That depends. I'm doing private classes (not NCT) and so far haven;t learned anything I didn't know already.
BUT, I have read eight books, researched everything on the internet, talked to other women about births, gone on forums (not just this one) and basically armed myself with loads of information. I also have a doula and have talked to her about lots of things and she has researched things for me.
The other people on my course seem not to have read anything and everything we are being told is new to them.
So, if you have or are able to read lots of books and get yourself full of information then you could get away without doing the classes, but if like most people you don;t have the time to do that, then I'd say you do need the classes.
Also, they are good for meeting people and showing up any gaps in your knowledge - I have some still to go and it's possible that something will crop up that I haven;t covered already (actually I think it's unlikely but I have an open mind!).
If you want to go down the book route, I'd personally recommend:
Childbirth Without Fear by Grantley !!!!!!-Read
Ina May Gaskin's Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin
as the two essential reads. I found them invaluable in terms of finding out about labour rather than pregnancy.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

OK. Dishes are done, laundry is in, I'm only missing one more phone number (if one of you wants to be on our text list to be first to pass on the exciting news shout up), labour bag is just awaiting the baby clothes so all that's left is the bedroom. Vague tidying, bedmaking and vacuuming are all that's required.
I can do that before 1pm and perhaps sit back with a book this afternoon. Or do some more householdy stuff. My list for tomorrow has something I can't do today on it, so I could clean the bathroom/toilet/kitchen from the weekend list instead.
Edit: oh no, shingles? *hugs*Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
