    Bump.......
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

    Hi

This is a list of high court enforcement officers http://www.dca.gov.uk/enforcement/enforce.pdf

What postcode is Crediton? Check if they are listed.

And you need to contact Herbie21, who is the best help with bailiffs. try to pm her; even if she does not get it , she gets a message to say you tried to contact her.

Do you have any knowledge of this CCJ? if not start to fill in the form that 10past6 posted up.

  • No this is the first time I have heard anything from anyone in nearly 4 years, I didn't even know the school were after the money now. I am not tryi ng to get out of the debt, just the extra and not to be wrapped up in the bailiffs thing.

The post code is EX17 3AH, I will look thank you. And I will contact Herbie

  • The officer is not listed, does this mean she can't take my goods?

just been checking out Herbie21's recent comms and this is what she wrote yesterday.
You are right...it has been very difficult to get hold of me. The reason for this is because 2 weeks ago our internet service provider managed ( by mistake) to DELETE our e-mail address when upgrading our telephone system. This has lead to the loss of all e-mails from the past 2 years and meant that the public could not contact us . We do have backups but this is taking time to set up.

We now have a new e-mail address which I will PM to you and others here on MSE.

Whilst writing, I would also like to point out that from next week our telephone call rate is being cut by 50% !!

To compensate for the difficulty that you have had in contacting us, please note that the password to downloads documents from our site is france and this password is available to anyone until next week when our call rates are reduced .

please read up her web-site and see if there are any letters that you can send.

And then send her a pm telling her the name of the company and the name of the bailiff. IF this person is a high court bailiff they have additional rights that i do not fully understand, so you do need Herbie.

Do you own a car? If so do you have a valued friend to whom you can transfer possession this weekend as it sound like that is the item most at risk.

  • Thank you very much for that. I don't own a car and I live in a shared house where I don't own the furniture and fittings.

black'etty - i must add that although it sounds terrible i can#t imagine
any private school forgetting about 5000 pounds, from my dealings with
the private education system they usually are pretty cute with money.
i find it hard to believe they didn't try and contact you for 4 years
then present you with this bill. Perhaps because you moved you avoided
the fact this bill needed paying. the 14k is probably lawyers fee and costs
etc. - i feel very sorry for you and imagine it isn't easy getting help
but perhaps you need just to have a reality check .

if you are right and they didn't present a bill for 4 years then i imagine
a judge could throw it out of court.- best to get some legal advice
but i doubt very much they didn't try and contact you.

  • I know, all the time I was ill I kept thinking they would contact me, in fact we wrote when I was first having real problems years ago and they didn't answer then. It is a christian school and there was never anything signed so I thought maybe they were just waiting. It is naive I kn ow but it's taken me these years to fa ce even my shop bills and house bills so this one was my last frontier. I am so mad at myself but it seemed safest to ignore it - and I know that sounds pathetic. But I am stronger now and do want to pay my debt but not more than double and not to have them declare me insolvent. Thank you for everyone who has taken the time and trouble to speak to me

  • Hello. Do you think I should phone the school and try to talk to them about this? Can they stop the bailiffs?
