Hipkiss wrote:Hiya,
Haven't done a goal thing for a few weeks now, but this week is going to be very difficult.
I start a new job next week, which for the first week I have to commute to London to their head office. So any chances of me having a spend free day are going to be totally out of it.
So, no goals for me this week I'm afraid
HK
Well good luck for your new job HK. Sometimes you have to concede that you can't get away with spending zero....so if it helps, just keep in mind (like I am this week!) "damage limitation". That can be a goal in itself.
I hope your first day is good.Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.
Sainsburys Loan: Cleared July 2010
Credit cards: AMEX Airmiles Card: direct debit set to clear balance monthly

Aww, thank you.
I think after Monday, I'll know what my budget will be (ie, train fares, lunch etc), so I'll be working it around that.
I noticed on your post you mentioned an IMG account?? What is that, is it a savings account?
Oh, and have a happy birthday! :bdaycake:

Here goes:
1. List 50 items on ebay
2. Have 4 no spend days
3. Pay loose change saved in March into bank ( £20.00 )
4. Iron all work clothes
5. Plan my meals for the week using what i have in the cupboard and freezer
6. Stick to budget of £ 25.00 to last from Sunday to Saturday (not including food shopping - i have money on Asda card that i can use to get anything i need)
7. Take lunch to work 5 days this week and no spending on any cakes for tea breaks
I know its a long list but if i don't write it all down there's no chance i'll stick to it!!!DEBT OUTSTANDING 23.04.17 £16802.970 -

Good luck buddiebabe, some great goals there!
Hipkiss, it is ING - an online savings account. You can open an account from £1 and they offer 4.50% AER I believe.
http://www.ingdirect.co.uk/ if it helps!
I received some vouchers from them to pass on to friends....if they open & credit some money into a new account, I got £10 and so did they as a "thank you". So if you were interested, you could look on the referrers board to see if anyone else on MSE has a code (I have used all mine now - sorry) or just open an account anyway and see if they will give you some vouchers to pass on to anyone you know. (They gave me 5.)
Good luck if you go for it! And thanks for the birthday wishes!Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

First of all, well done to everyone, these threads really seem to help us all stick to our goals :T
Right, my week:
Have one no spend day. Yep, thursday :j 10/10
Concentrate when on first two mystery shopping assignments (monday), bit scared by the amount of detail I need to remember and report back on . Will be £20 earned though I did concentrate and i think I did ok with them. Another 4 to do this week. 10/10
Make food plan, then shopping list, then stick to it! Yep, done. Plan made, then list, then stuck to it. Spent £18 out of £35 budget :j 10/10
Keep trying to eat healthily. Yep, bought, lots of yummy nectarines, apples, pears etc and enjoying them instead of sugary stuffDid give in to a small bar of green and blacks though thanks to a very tempting conversation on here :rotfl: 8/10
Only buy 1 of the 7 nice tops I'm watching on ebay They all went over my £7 budget so bought none of them :j 10/10
Dig out paperwork on student loan so as to put debt/savings totals in my sig (as promised a week or two back! ) Yep, done, as you can see! Sig is getting a bit long though10/10
So thats 58/60 for this week :T Must make them a bit harder for this week! So:
Have one no spend day.
Chase people who are being slow in paying for ebay items.
Don't spend more than £5 on food, just need top ups!
Concentrate and do my best on more mystery shopping jobs, that'll be £40 earned
Investigate how long it takes to be payed for mystery shopping jobs.
Take home made food on long journey to avoid motorway services prices, allow one coffee if I need to wake up!
That's my lot for the week, good luck everybody!!Don't stress, relax, let life roll off your backs. Except for death and paying taxes, everything in life is only for now... Avenue QOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 003Proud to have become debt free... and striving to keep it that way

The referrals thread is here if anyone does want to open an ing direct account. I have 5 codes left but there are many others on the thread who do too. Please pm me if you want a code but obviously I don't want to jump the queue

New to this one so I'm keeping it small this week. Let's see if I can get the hang of it.
1. Cut down on showers/baths at home - go to gym before work three times this week and use their facilities (they even supply shower gel, handcream, cotton wool, tissues and hairdryers - kerchiiiiiiiiiiiing!).
2. Do work out at gym (before shower, of course!) hence feeling that I am a) using my membership to full potential and b) getting some exercise.
3. Take own filter coffee to work in space age looking flask rather than spending a couple of quid on Cafe Nero coffee in a cardboard cup which always leaks anyway thereby cutting spending and stress of mincing delicately down the road in high heels trying not to spill coffee.
4. Take all lunches to work.
5. Prepare some meals in advance this afternoon (Sunday) so I have no excuse about "can't be bothered to cook because I'm too tired" when I get home at night.
6. Renew library books on line to prevent overdue charges.
That's my lot. :A:eek: What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about? :eek:Official "Bring back Mark and Lard NOW! or else (please)" Member 160 -
