    Last weeks goals were:

    1. Use tumble dryer once only if at all DIDN'T USE IT AT ALL! :D
    2. Try again for no more than 4 loads of washing FAILED! Just doesn't seem possible in our house even though there are two of us.
    3. Try and shorten my showers a bit or at least start turning the taps down a bit so it's not coming out so quick when I'm just shaving my legs!! Yes, am making a small difference though it is hard to measure.
    4. Get paid on Thursday - still do not top up PAYG till then at the earliest. Acheived. I bought a top up voucher on Wednesday by Switch so it came out of my bank on Thursday. Would have waited a bit longer but had a small emergency so had to do it.
    5. Have (at least) another one no spend day. Achieved - Tuesday. I was ill though & housebound!
    6. Spend no more than £3 on balance of fresh veg groceries at end of week. Yep, gave OH £2.10 when he went to supermarket and he came back with what we needed.
    7. Give out all 5 of my ING direct vouchers (£10 for me & £10 for friend who opens new ING account - with a pound I think!) Achieved!
    8. Try and find something to list on Amazon. Achieved! I don't know if it will sell though...but I can only try.
    9. Going out on Friday night (for the first Friday in ?????? months) and want to spend no more than £30 - which includes a bite to eat, gig ticket & getting home - no public transport after 11pm where I live.
Achieved. Didn't go out after all...various reasons. So didn't spend it on taxis & Guinness! However the cash did disappear yesterday on other things but I would have been buying them anyway so I did save in a round-a-bout way.

    This Weeks Goals

This will be tough. I have time off this week with OH to celebrate my birthday so not spending money will be nigh on impossible. Damage limitation springs to mind! OK here goes:

    1. Do not use tumble dryer more than once.
    2. When going to cinema do not buy massively overpriced popcorn or cola.
    3. Try & find things to do Friday & Saturday which are cheap (<£10) or free.
    4. Plan a meal for w/c 9.4.06 which includes tin of green lentils! (See OS board!!)
    5. List a pair of cords on EBAY on Friday with their free gallery day

Not many this week but as I say - damage limitation is the key I feel!

    Good luck everyone!

:o I didn't do too well - feel quite ashamed :o as it was my first week - but I promise to do better next week. However my mindset has totally changed, when I have to spend money I AM looking for cheaper options.

    LAST WEEK

    1) Cancel newspapers (only weekend but still £10/month) - done
    2) Cancel Sky - phoned, determined to cancel and not accept any 'special offers' - gave in to 6 months @£7.50.
    3) Stop using coffee machine at work and make my own using the kettle!! - No, did cut back on vending machine purchases but still using it at times! :o
    4) No crisps or sweets from work vending machines (will help with diet too!!) - failed miserably - it was a very stressful week! :o
    5) Compile menu plan for week using what's in fridge and freezer - No (again :o ) but did use up things I had in the house and didn't go to supermarket until yesterday (only 'cos friend was coming for dinner) and only spent £3.59.
    6) No food shopping except bread - see No.5
    7) 3 no spend days - only 1! :o
    8) Add more stuff to ebay - Again, no!! Current sales end today and this has given me added motivation as they have done so well.

Did, however, cancel my DVD rental, apply for Amazon CC - not to use, I have no CC balances at present, just to get free £15 voucher, got my first £2 coin and joined £2 Savers Club

    THIS WEEK

    1) 3 no spend days
    2) Eat out of cupboards and freezer
    3) Cut out vending machine purchases at work - coffee, chocolate and crisps!
    4) Add more stuff to ebay
    5) Cancel regular ISA Deposit and use this month's to make loan overpayment
    6) Joined April Grocery Challenge - £75/month - so that's £18.75/wk

:o Promise to do better this week. :o

Hey Alicatt, Rome didn't get built in a day! ;)
From what I see you have made some progress :T and I am sure you will go even further this week as your targets are more achievable. Good luck, you will get there!

    Hiya,

Haven't done a goal thing for a few weeks now, but this week is going to be very difficult.

I start a new job next week, which for the first week I have to commute to London to their head office. So any chances of me having a spend free day are going to be totally out of it.

So, no goals for me this week I'm afraid :(
