Well, we've been pretty much living together since I got here anyway (his place is bigger than mine). But, at first, his landlady refused to allow me to be added to the contract stating that it would increase the taxation costs on the property etc.
I had to have my own address to register as a resident, get a social security number, set up a bank account, have post sent to etc etc. So, I found a small studio place in the same town.
However, the private rental maket here is fierce and it's been costing me €875 per month! That does include gas, water, electricity, TV and internet though. But....it's still wasted money and I've been struggling loads (as you can imagine!).
So....my OH asked the landlady again recently (as we have now met and got on really well) and she said yes this time! We did offer more rent if needs be (didn't state a figure though - for negotiation purposes), but she hasn't requested an increase!
So...we get to live together officially AND our rent is halved!
Soooo looking forward to the start of that month. We can start saving for some storage furniture - to make better use of the space available etc - and even save for a holiday next year!
But yeah, I'm all loved upFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -

:T:T:j:j Congratulations!! I'm very pleased for you
OK, I spent another €1.12 for a banana and diet coke at lunchtime (can you see the running theme here??), €2.30 on my train ticket back from Dutch course and €3.51 on some chicken and yoghurt (gonna make a curry tomorrow night).
So, add that to this morning's spend and my total today is €10.33Boo hiss!
Maths was wrong: Total today is €9.33February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Hi All
PP - hope you're having/had(!) a lovely time
Colleen - Congratulations on the job, that's great news!
Colleen/Euronorris - know what you mean about clothing budget. I have a budget of £50pm, but that's between 5 of us - 2 adults & 3 kids...why do kids wreck their shoes so often?I saw two gorgeous pairs of shoes in the Faith sale today, but managed to resist. OH says I should be them tho and stop being a martyr! It's sooo hard tho once you've had that LBM
.
Anyway, spends since last post: yesterday £2.93 on drinks, packet of crisps and deodrant, and then 30p today on a nectarine. So that leaves me with £6.16. I'll porbably spend all of this tomorrow on lunch out, but am pleased to have made it to the end of the week in the green.

Hey all
Hope everyone's well.
pp - hope you're having a good break.
Colleen - well done on the new job and hope everything's still good in the love dept.
Hey to all the newbies - how long is the list on page 1? - it's brill having so many attempting the weekly challenge - which i have to say for me is the hardest challenge ever.
Now - i have to say sorry for being a useless budgeteer - haven't been spending (much) but haven't been posting enough on MSE either. Bad budgeteer.
Spends so far this week £15, anyway really going to have to reign it in, have just had an offer on my house, so attempting negotiations, but need deposit, solicitors fees, EA fees etc etc etc

OK, my spend so far today is €1.12 again for drink and banana! lol
Which means I now have €1.00 left. Mmmm, was planning on getting some rice and a couple beers to have with a homemade curry tonight. But.....since, I didn't have the time to make the sauce and marinade the chicken last night, maybe I can leave this until tomorrow night.
We still have some red wine left that my OH won at work last week, which we could have tonight.
Maybe I can get the rice for less than a €1. Not sure, need to check the shops. Mmmmmm.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
