Did anyone see that programme the other week about all the different diets and the awful stuff that had happened to various people on them? It was presented by the girl who used to be on Hollyoaks with red hair (don't know her name) who has lost 10 stone but did it over many years.

They were obviously extremes of what could happen but some had some really frightening experiences.

Thanks Pap :) I have read everything I can find, I was thinking about this a few months ago but couldn't for a while... I feel ready to give it a try now :) how are you doing with it?

why put yourself in a category - if you dont succeed you'll feel worse - just change your lifestyle to eating well and becoming fit?

    do the DD diet? :)

Got fed up with the ironing and gave up.
Think I may just go sit in the garden - can't settle.
Just been and told Mum and Dad about the shop etc and they have been really nice about it all! They are going to pay my car tax and MOT next month.

Definitely decided - shop will be closed and finished by the time I go away.

Wise words Doomy, if only it were so easy.

I've re-joined Slimming World, although I'm planning to make that yummy Cappuccino cake and some fruit cakes

DD - lovely to see you back. I've not done a SOA on here either and feel like I'm treading water...just when I see land in sight, someone moves it another 10 miles away.....I spend my time torn between complete panic that we're not doing better and that feeling of "why shouldn't we have a bottle of wine...it's not as if we ever go out"...I need to find a happy medium.

Hope all the runners got on well.....it's so muggy here today that I hope it wasn't quite so hot for them.

Not an easy decision Bookie, hopefully you will start to feel as though a weight has lifted from your shoulders. :grouphug:

I did my washing whilst I was at work this morning, think I'd better tackle Mount Ironmore this evening.

That's lovely of your parents and well done on your decision....you'll be able to go on holiday knowing that the rest of your life is spread before you!

For what it's worth (which isn't much) but I think you're doing the right thing. :j

Hi Pooky, did you manage to get that book you wanted and has it shed any light on your DD?
Think I'd better try and bully mine into tidying her room.

I think you will start to feel much better Bookie now you have made a definite decision. I often think that making the actual 'move' is worse than what comes afterwards. It's onwards and upwards now -with a new career as a registrar I feel ;)
