DD - hang on in there. My finances are a total mess too and i have been here a year. Just starting to wake up. I've not done an SOA - too scary.

SRM - the shop is not good so, yes, I need a job.

Going to see Dad now - back later.

    Morning DD :hello:

I haven't been posting on the daily chat thread very long (only started earlier this year) so don't "know" you as well as some of the regulars but from what you've said in your post you've been through quite alot in a short time.
As to "burying your head in the sand" well it's obviously come out now, so you can start to address your issues, moving is stressful enough without being pregnant & doing it twice whilst being pregnant, let alone everything else that's going on.
It sounds like you're ready to start sorting yourself out & you couldn't be in a better place than here on MSE & in DFW daily chats, where you couldn't find a more helpful, supportive & friendly bunch of people.
    Take care

    Morning.

    Fingers crossed for Mr SRM.
Sammy did get the money sorted, they sent it by CHAPS

Daphne, don't feel you are the only one who hasn't done a SOA, I've not either :o
And I've gone overdrawn this month so I'm now facing charges etc
It sounds as though you've got a good deal with the house.

Hope all the runners have had fun,

Lovely to see Cat posting and up dating us about Evie. :T

  • @ dd - Believe me, we're not all in control. At least, I'm not. I owe the same amount as you and I'm failing my degree as well. I've never said/typed that out loud before but it's true. I'm behind on a year's worth of essays and have until the start of August to finish them all. Which might sound like a long time but I've got a house move on the 1st July and it's going to take me the rest of this month to pack. So after today, I won't be able to do any more work until 2nd July. So I've got a month to write 7 essays, 6 2000 word ones and 1 3000 word one. And I haven't even had it confirmed that I've got mitigating circumstances on most of them. Plus I've got work as well. I really am hopeless. :(

DD - never feel ashamed at what you think you should or shouldn't be doing. Just take 1 small piece of the jigsaw and do that, don't think about anything else. Perhaps start with how much you are spending on food - that's an easy one as you can just keep the receipts for a month. When you know, perhaps join the supermarket challenge on OS and take it (slowly) from there.

I wonder how they are doing in Leeds, I guess they will possibly be over the finish line around now?

Thanks whatatwit (feels a bit unkind to call you that!) we should have an SOA amnesty, everyone out of the woodwork and own up!

Kayleigh thanks for making me feel less alone but that sounds really overwhelming, my OU course is just a level 1 with short essays and long deadlines, it is me that is crap really. 7 essays, that's two a week, so one every three days... what do you think? Is every essay crucial or can any be left completely? I have already missed one on my course so that's it.

Thanks BB :grouphug: actually I was going to start the MSE favourite, the cambridge diet... it would make the grocery bill a lot easier to sort out! Because OH works 5 days he just has dinner here, and DS is easy enough, it is me and my picky eating that screws it all up, I am here 3 days a week (work at home for some of it) and I then do stupid things like go for freshly baked bread (uh... got rid of my breadmaker :o) and end up spending £15... you know the story I am sure!

Bunny just posted on Facebook that they have all finished, bet they're all buzzing after that! :T

Thanks Inky, sorry I thought I quoted this in my reply up there  anyway that was a lovely message of support, thank you :) I am going to try to be positive, you're right my head WAS in the sand, past tense, but I can work on things now, by being honest hopefully I can get kicks up the harris when needed - it was so easy to not talk about money much on here and then no one would shout when I bought shoes, etc... you know? I think the DFW conscience is coming through for me! But ultimately I am in control, I think that's what I need to remember, no one is making me fall behind or get fed up but I can sort it out.

Just checked my work emails and my boss has booked a 45 minute 'chat' about me having a day off sick three weeks ago - I have GOT to get out of there.
