Best and most appreciated present for Grandparents is a Calendar for the following year with pictures of the kids on it. They love it. Doesnt cost a lot - I use the machine in ASDAs. But you have to have sorted it out around the start of November to guarantee delivery for Christmas. Good - & Professional looking.
Or you can normally buy sets from Poundland to allow you to do the same thing - for much less money.
Another useful tip - is the MSE save money on Amazon trick. I look and buy using it throughout the year. Only on the £75-99% off system though. NB - I have found that the automated links on MSE arent working that well now - best to build your own URLs - click the link below the MSE constructed ones. Sounds hard but works really well. Just bought 7 Fruit of the Loom TShirts for £10.00. P&P free.0 -
Sports Direct's deal of the day is also good - I've got two Christmas pressies from that. Someone tends to post it on grabbit now - that is how I found it.Debt at highest: £8k. Debt Free 31/12/2009. Original MFD May 2036, MF Dec 2018.0

ah the 'presents for the birthday party' - I remember those days
and I still remmeber my HORROR reading in the Sunday express magazine that children at ONE party were given i-pod shuffles in their party bags.

Hi cha97, remember my down moment a couple of weeks ago?? Sometimes we all feel like we are taking 2 steps forward and a million backwards.
You have to remember you are doing the best & the hardest job in the world, looking after your two little ones. The way you make your money last is amazing, there is no way I could achieve half of what you have on the same figures.
Big hugs

re the Cards
card factory do ranges of cards 10 cards for a pound...they don't have them in just before xmas (obviously put more profitable lines out;))- they are really good value IMHO especially as they come with coloured envelopes.
We (job share and I) have them in for the kiddies at school - she likes to give cards and I agreed to pay half - so money saving if I buy 10 for a £1.00

ASDAs do similar packs 10 for £1.00 boys and girls birthdays. Good for store cupboard essentials when the kids are younger.0 -

Not me Michelle, I rarely post but regularly read and you do inspire me.
Pleased to hear about the nappies - my DS2 (who is older than your DS1!) has finally tried the last two weeks and manages maybe two nights in three. Have to admit I was mostly pleased about the saving in nappies, and that I didnt have to go to Lidl for some more when I am trying to stay out of shops
