I think most, if not all 'bulls' on this forum are involved in Buy to Let or are Estate Agents. What do you think? :D

Most definitely. The vast majority are either bored estate agents with nothing better to do. Or BTL mugs who are desperately seking any faint snippet of news that will potentially reduce their disastrous losses. It's quite pathetic really.

It's difficult to say, and to honest I'm not too fussed, if someone has a VI in prices going up due to employment or business, you can't really blame them, and to be honest on a forum it adds to debate, we do have some good debates on here.

My gripe at the moment is the media and government are full of bullish VI, with never any counter argument against rising prices, we have a bit of Beeney telling it like it is, a bit of Merryn Someret-Webb, and Jonathan Davies (former HPC spokesman), the latter two though get no airtime at all to speak of, and Beeney has only just come back on the scene.

This kind of one sided debate in the media is unhelpful, biased, and unhealthy. As far as the bulls go on here, they are sound, I'm not bothered what they do.

Just to answer the question though, I think most are BTL'rs.

I happen to know for a fact that that all the bulls ID's are owned by one estate agent who hails from Portsmouth. It came up in a conversation I was having with Martyn and some mods in a local Harvester recently. I asked why they don't just bar him, but of course without his efforts we would just be agreeing with ourselves on here. Forum visits would tail off, and less pizza would get sold.

just the man, I notice you have a keen eye for the deals ATM:D, so if you hear of a good phone only deal I need a new mobile. Mine died this morning when I was trying to find radio five on it to listen to some programme someone here said to listen too.

There wasn't a "labour party activist" or "gordon brown" option, which disappointed me.

i don't agree, there have been several articles in the proper press over the last month about how house prices will inevitably fall further. the "bullish VI" stuff is on the back of improving trends and house prices rising month on month - what do you expect, post-lehmans doom mongering?

We have heard a lot about lack of confidence being a key element in the recession. That being the case if talking economic prospects and house prices up actually improves confidence and the state of the various markets is that not a good thing? I know there is little point in living in a fool's paradise, but also predicting doom if it destroys confidence and becomes a self fulfilling prophecy is also not a good thing. Nobody should really have an interest in the economy crashing although some clearly may be in a better position to withstand it than others. I am not an EA or BTLer by the way. As a footnote I would say that whilst the above, to me, is a reasonable explanation of why the media holds back on dire predictions I appreciate the efforts of the bears here as they do explain some of the hazards we face and are only read, in general, by a few hundred people.

Oh dearest, please forgive me, of course I remember you, but I do have problems holding the memeories together (who said what), things either stick...or they don't. If it makes you feel better I just called my husband a name that isn't his too (and no, it wasn't Cleaver!).

You lot are all used to me and don't notice (or refrain from commenting more) but I made an almightly balls up in Health and Beauty forum yesterday :o and that was a mistake too. I accused Tomterm of being a lawyer the other day too.:o I get words wrong all the time: trying to remember who said what is too hrd . Its either the good team or the bad team. (the teams not being bulls or bears) in my head.

    Are you older than Cleaver?

    Still got the Sim card?

    Here's a cheap phone. http://www.buy-mphone.com/acatalog/1208_sim_free.html
You could probably get one for nothing from people who simply must have the latest whatever.
