:rotfl:That takes me back a bit :rotfl:(suspect a lot of people haven't a clue what we are talking about!). I used to frequent 2 local churches on a Sat - made a fortune (thinks - wonder if they still do it - maybe time to move back to Scotland - the size I am now I could just sit on the money & wait till all the kids had gone :o. Easier than a GAP questionnaire :rotfl:

    Still do it??

Health and Safety, throwing metal out of a car at young children, no way. You would have the politically correct brigade on you in no time.

Then you would have the whole issue of adult male distributing money to strange children, that would tick another politically incorrect box.

I did however see a scramble in an Ayrshire town only last summer. Bet they put a stop to it now.

    :D

My Dad did a scramble when I got married. The day before, the three little boys from the end of the street were playing out, so I told them to make sure they were in the street at the time the car was leaving so they would get some money. They went and told all their friends, so went I came out there was a crowd of children and their Mam's all waiting to wave me off. I felt like royalty :D

Back on topic - you must not take anyone with you on burger jobs, but I'm not sure about chicken.
Here I go again on my own....

If you read the first page of this thread, there's a list of reccommended Mystery Shopping companies. The range in terms of pay, assignments and recruiting process - many companies are only recruiting in certain postcodes.

I suggest having a read through the first page and see if any of the companies there take your fancy. Some companies do have referral schemes - Retail Eyes is the most commonly used referral system which gives the referrer £1.50 per referral they get signed up who completes an assignment.

    This was discussed quite recently.

I got a tug from the tax people and was asked why I was doing these jobs and making a loss.

My answer was it's just a hobby.

I spend a lot of money on golf for example but don't get anything back financially. Same for misery shopping, it's just my little hobby.

They were quite happy with that answer.

Is this a usual situation for MSing? I live in a village, and most jobs are about 10 miles each way, which obviously adds upto £8 fuel there and back. Most jobs I do are £5 plus reinbursements. This is withou adding the cost of printing out notes etc. As I say, I don't care as I enjoy it, and usually do the jobs when I've gone to the town anyway, not out of my way. Just concerned about the taxman at the end of the year?

Do most MSers make a yearly profit, once fuel and printing is done? The only way I can see it done, is if you live right in the middle of the town/city in question and get paid £10+ fee per job?

Check the loos??? You must be having a laugh.

Most betting shops around my area never see women inside. However due to some quaint laws, they have to provide a ladies toilet and smoking is no longer officially allowed.

Therefore the room labelled "Ladies" is in fact used as the gentlemens smoking room. Thus giving two laws a body swerve at the same time.

I can just imagine the panic if a woman tried to enter.

Hi Bob this is becoming like a competition between us. I can beat your loo story. I am not too fond of flying. Well not so much flying as crashing"""" So hubby and I are sitting in the final departure lounge at Glasgow airport. Suddenly we are the famous 2 remaining passengers...now I need the loo so I rushed out to the toilet and accidentally ( honest) ran into the mens toilet. Quite an interesting experience as they only have 2 cubicles of some reason. Cue all these men looking horrified so I just said "Don't worry I left my measuring tape at home" Funny they didn't seem terribly amused.

Anyway I am a nurse and have seen more you know what's than most of you have had hot dinners.

What is this obsession you men have with "inches"

No wonder the famous Timmne told me I should write a book!!!:rotfl:

I think I'm being a bit thick here. I've signed up with GAP but am unsure how to put my bank details in! I don't understand the codes. Whats IBAN etc? The bank account section do I need to put sort code in etc as well?

My first one is today but I don't want to do it if I'm not going to get paid!
